Core Responsibilities

Primary Functions

  • Masterfully wrap and present a diverse range of products according to specific, and often complex, brand aesthetic standards and guidelines.
  • Execute personalized requests, such as hand-written gift notes, custom ribbons, and monogrammed tags, with 100% accuracy.
  • Perform rigorous quality control checks on all products before wrapping to ensure they are free from defects, blemishes, or damage.
  • Carefully assemble multi-item gift boxes, sets, and baskets, ensuring logical, secure, and visually appealing placement of all components.
  • Manage and maintain an organized workstation, including the stocking of all necessary supplies like wrapping paper, boxes, ribbons, tissue, and packing materials.
  • Operate order management and shipping software to accurately process orders, generate shipping labels, and verify customer information.
  • Select the appropriate size and type of packaging to ensure the gift's safety and integrity during transit, minimizing movement and potential damage.
  • Uphold a consistent pace to meet daily and weekly team production goals and service-level agreements (SLAs), especially during peak holiday seasons.
  • Handle fragile, high-value, and unusually shaped items with exceptional care and employ specialized packing techniques as needed.
  • Monitor inventory levels of all gifting supplies and proactively communicate replenishment needs to the team lead or supervisor to prevent workflow interruptions.
  • Adhere to all workplace health and safety protocols, maintaining a clean, safe, and efficient work environment for the entire team.
  • Collaborate effectively with warehouse pickers and packers to ensure a seamless and efficient flow of orders from inventory to final shipment.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve common order issues, such as missing items or incorrect addresses, by liaising with the customer service or inventory teams.
  • Methodically inspect the final packed product to guarantee it meets all visual and structural standards before it is dispatched.
  • Participate in training sessions for new wrapping techniques, seasonal campaigns, and updated brand guidelines to maintain a high level of expertise.
  • Process and document returned gift items, inspecting them for damage and preparing them for restocking or other dispositions.
  • Assist in the end-of-day cleanup and organization of the entire gifting and packing area to prepare for the next shift.
  • Utilize hand-held scanners and other warehouse technology to track orders and inventory movements accurately within the system.
  • Provide constructive feedback on wrapping materials and tools to help improve quality, efficiency, and sustainability.
  • Adapt to changing priorities and handle last-minute, high-priority orders with professionalism and a sense of urgency.

Secondary Functions

  • Assist team leads by tracking and reporting on daily production metrics, such as units wrapped per hour and material usage.
  • Provide on-the-ground feedback to supervisors regarding process improvements, workflow efficiencies, and supply quality.
  • Liaise with the Customer Service team to resolve any order discrepancies or special customer requests regarding gift messaging and presentation.
  • Actively participate in daily team huddles and weekly planning meetings to prepare for volume fluctuations and special promotions.

Required Skills & Competencies

Hard Skills (Technical)

  • Gift Wrapping Proficiency: Demonstrated ability to wrap neatly and creatively, with clean lines, crisp folds, and an artistic touch.
  • Order Management Systems (OMS): Familiarity with navigating e-commerce or warehouse software to view order details and update statuses.
  • Inventory Tracking: Basic understanding of inventory control principles and experience using scanners or software to track supplies.
  • Quality Control Inspection: The ability to spot imperfections, defects, or damages in products and packaging materials.
  • Packing & Shipping Logistics: Knowledge of proper packing techniques for fragile items and experience with shipping label generation software (e.g., ShipStation).
  • Manual Dexterity: Excellent hand-eye coordination and the ability to skillfully manipulate small items, ribbons, and tools.

  • 0 - 3 years in a related field.

Preferred:

  • At least 1 year of experience in a role requiring detailed, hands-on work, such as in high-end retail, e-commerce fulfillment, a floral shop, or a boutique gift store. Experience during a peak holiday season is a significant asset.
