Core Responsibilities

Primary Functions

  • Develop and maintain complex financial models to support long-range planning, forecasting, and the annual budgeting processes on a global scale.
  • Perform in-depth variance analysis of financial results against budget, forecast, and prior year, providing insightful commentary on key business drivers and performance metrics.
  • Consolidate and analyze financial data from multiple international subsidiaries, considering currency fluctuations, local accounting standards (GAAP/IFRS), and transfer pricing.
  • Prepare and present comprehensive monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting packages for senior leadership and executive management.
  • Collaborate with regional finance teams across the globe to ensure the accuracy, consistency, and timeliness of financial submissions and reporting.
  • Analyze and interpret large, complex datasets to identify emerging trends, financial risks, and strategic opportunities across different markets and product lines.
  • Support the global strategic planning process by providing rigorous financial insights and scenario modeling for new initiatives, market entries, and investment opportunities.
  • Conduct detailed profitability analysis by customer, product, and region to inform pricing strategies and critical resource allocation decisions.
  • Act as a financial business partner to leaders across functions (e.g., Sales, Marketing, Operations) to provide financial guidance and support for their strategic objectives.
  • Drive the implementation and enhancement of financial systems and business intelligence (BI) tools to improve reporting efficiency and analytical capabilities.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and operational metrics, linking them directly to financial performance and providing actionable recommendations for improvement.
  • Assist in the preparation of high-impact materials for Board of Directors meetings, investor relations presentations, and other external financial communications.
  • Evaluate capital expenditure proposals and potential M&A opportunities through discounted cash flow (DCF), ROI, and payback period analysis.
  • Manage and streamline intercompany transactions and consolidation processes to ensure the integrity and accuracy of global financial statements.
  • Develop a deep understanding of the company's global business model, its value chain, and the competitive landscape in which it operates.
  • Lead or participate in high-visibility, cross-functional projects aimed at process improvement, cost reduction, and operational efficiency on a global level.
  • Analyze the financial impact of foreign exchange (FX) rates on the company's performance and assist in developing risk mitigation strategies.
  • Provide analytical support for pricing and commercial proposals for large, multi-regional customer accounts.

Secondary Functions

  • Support ad-hoc data requests and exploratory data analysis from senior management and business partners.
  • Contribute to the organization's data governance and master data management initiatives to ensure data integrity.
  • Assist the corporate accounting team during the month-end and quarter-end close process by providing analytical review and support.
  • Train and mentor junior analysts or regional finance personnel on global reporting standards and analytical tools.

Required Skills & Competencies

Hard Skills (Technical)

  • Advanced Financial Modeling: Demonstrated ability to build and maintain complex, three-statement financial models, DCF analyses, and scenario/sensitivity models from scratch.
  • Microsoft Excel Mastery: Expert-level proficiency, including pivot tables, advanced formulas, Power Query, and macros for handling large and complex datasets.
  • ERP System Proficiency: Hands-on experience with major enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems such as SAP, Oracle NetSuite, or Microsoft Dynamics.
  • FP&A & BI Software Expertise: Strong working knowledge of corporate performance management (CPM) and business intelligence (BI) tools (e.g., Anaplan, Workday Adaptive Planning, Hyperion, Tableau, Power BI).
  • Accounting Principles: Solid understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (US GAAP) and/or International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
  • Data Querying & Management: Familiarity with SQL for data extraction and manipulation from relational databases is highly desirable.
  • Presentation Software: Ability to distill complex financial information into clear, concise narratives using PowerPoint and other presentation tools.
