Core Responsibilities

Primary Functions

  • Develop, implement, and manage comprehensive global physical security policies, standards, and procedures to safeguard personnel and assets across all corporate facilities worldwide.
  • Conduct detailed and ongoing security risk assessments (SRAs), threat analyses, and vulnerability evaluations for existing and proposed offices, manufacturing sites, and data centers.
  • Serve as the primary subject matter expert on a broad spectrum of security issues, providing strategic counsel to executive leadership on geopolitical risks, terrorism, crime trends, and civil unrest.
  • Design, manage, and continuously improve the corporate travel security program, ensuring robust pre-travel intelligence, risk mitigation strategies, and 24/7 emergency response for our global workforce.
  • Lead and oversee complex, sensitive internal investigations into security incidents such as workplace violence, asset misappropriation, intellectual property theft, and other significant policy violations.
  • Architect and manage executive protection programs and protocols for senior leadership during daily activities, special events, and international travel to high-risk locations.
  • Function as a core member of the enterprise-wide Crisis Management Team, providing critical intelligence, strategic direction, and operational support during security-related crises.
  • Analyze and interpret complex threat intelligence from a variety of sources to produce actionable reports, predictive assessments, and strategic recommendations for senior business leaders.
  • Oversee the entire lifecycle of physical security technology systems, including the design, procurement, installation, and maintenance of access control, CCTV, and intrusion detection solutions.
  • Partner seamlessly with cross-functional teams, including Human Resources, Legal, Compliance, and IT, to embed security considerations into all facets of the business.
  • Conduct regular security audits and compliance reviews against internal policies and external regulations, developing and tracking remediation plans to address identified deficiencies.
  • Build and maintain a strong network of professional contacts, including local, state, and federal law enforcement in key operating regions, as well as private security and intelligence counterparts.
  • Provide expert security design and consulting for new construction, site acquisitions, and major renovation projects to ensure security best practices are integrated from the ground up.
  • Develop, document, and regularly test incident response plans, emergency action plans, and site evacuation procedures to ensure a high state of operational readiness.
  • Continuously monitor global events and geopolitical trends, assessing their potential impact on company operations and proactively adjusting security posture and advising leadership.
  • Prepare and deliver clear, concise, and compelling security briefings, risk reports, and post-incident reviews to the executive management team and board-level committees.
  • Drive the continuous improvement of the global security program by researching, evaluating, and implementing innovative security technologies, methodologies, and industry best practices.
  • Lead security due diligence efforts for potential mergers, acquisitions, and new market entries, identifying critical risks and developing integration and mitigation strategies.
  • Manage the security planning and execution for major corporate events, international conferences, and high-profile meetings, ensuring the safety of all attendees.
  • Manage vendor relationships and performance for security service providers, including contract guard forces, alarm monitoring centers, and specialized security consultants, ensuring quality and value.
  • Develop and manage regional and program-specific security budgets, including financial forecasting, resource allocation, and reporting on key performance indicators.

  • Support regional security managers with complex investigations, major events, or special projects as a subject matter expert.
  • Contribute to the ongoing development and refinement of the company's Enterprise Security Risk Management (ESRM) framework and governance model.
  • Mentor and develop junior security professionals and analysts within the global security organization, fostering talent and building team capability.
  • Represent the company in industry-specific security forums, working groups, and public-private partnerships to stay ahead of emerging threats and best practices.

Required Skills & Competencies

Hard Skills (Technical)

  • Physical Security System Expertise: Deep knowledge of access control, video surveillance (CCTV), visitor management, and intrusion detection systems (e.g., Genetec, Lenel, Avigilon).
  • Threat Intelligence & Risk Analysis: Proven ability to collect, analyze, and disseminate intelligence from various sources to produce actionable risk assessments and geopolitical analysis.
  • Enterprise Security Risk Management (ESRM): Mastery of ESRM principles and methodologies to identify, evaluate, and mitigate a wide range of security risks.
  • Crisis Management & Incident Command: Demonstrated experience leading response efforts during complex security incidents and corporate crises, often using the Incident Command System (ICS).

  • Security Auditing & Compliance: Proficiency in conducting security audits and measuring compliance against internal standards and frameworks like ISO 27001 or TAPA.
  • Project & Budget Management: Skill in managing large-scale security projects, timelines, and budgets from conception to completion.
  • Business Continuity & Emergency Planning: Knowledge of developing and testing business continuity plans (BCP) and emergency response procedures.

Experience Requirements

Typical Experience Range:

  • 8-15 years of progressive experience in corporate security, federal law enforcement, intelligence community, or military special operations, with a significant focus on international operations.

Preferred:

  • Direct experience managing security programs within a Fortune 500 or large multinational corporation, covering multiple, diverse geographic regions (e.g., APAC, EMEA, LATAM).
  • Professional certifications such as Certified Protection Professional (CPP), Physical Security Professional (PSP), or Certified Information Security Manager (CISM) are highly desirable.
  • Fluency in a second language is a significant plus.
