Core Responsibilities

Primary Functions

  • Proactively greet all members and their guests by name upon arrival, offering a warm, professional welcome to set a positive tone for their entire visit.
  • Manage the daily staging, rotation, and return of the golf cart fleet to ensure optimal availability, traffic flow, and operational efficiency from open to close.
  • Meticulously clean, detail, and sanitize the entire golf cart fleet after each use, ensuring a pristine and safe experience for every player, including restocking supplies like scorecards, pencils, and sand bottles.
  • Assist players with loading and unloading their golf bags from their vehicles onto the assigned golf carts, ensuring careful handling of all personal equipment.
  • Provide clear and concise information to players regarding course conditions, pace of play policies, daily rules, and any special events or notices for the day.
  • Maintain the driving range and practice facilities by diligently picking the range, cleaning golf balls, and ensuring a constant, well-stocked supply of practice balls for members and guests.
  • Systematically manage the bag room operations, including the proper storage, retrieval, and cleaning of member-owned golf clubs and bags.
  • Conduct routine inspections of each golf cart to check for proper working order, including tire pressure, battery charge, and any visible damage, reporting issues promptly to maintenance.
  • Uphold and gently enforce all club policies and golf etiquette standards to ensure a safe, enjoyable, and respectful environment for everyone on the property.
  • Communicate effectively via radio with the Pro Shop, Starters, and Marshals to coordinate starting times, track player pace, and relay important messages.
  • Prepare and set up the golf course for daily play as well as for special tournaments and corporate outings, including placing signage, water coolers, and on-course contest markers.
  • Deliver an exceptional level of personalized service by anticipating player needs, such as offering a cold towel on a hot day or providing directions to club amenities.
  • Maintain the immaculate cleanliness and organization of all outside service areas, including the bag drop, cart barn, staging areas, and practice facilities.
  • Perform end-of-day closing procedures, which include returning all carts to the cart barn, connecting them to charging stations, and securing all equipment.
  • Provide accurate and helpful information about the golf course layout, hole-by-hole challenges, and club amenities to enhance the player's experience.
  • Respond to player inquiries and requests with a positive and solution-oriented attitude, taking ownership of issues until they are fully resolved.
  • Assist in managing rental club inventory, ensuring sets are clean, complete, and ready for guest use.
  • Monitor and control the pace of play on the golf course as directed, providing friendly reminders to groups to help them stay on schedule.
  • Ensure all tees, scorecards, pencils, and other necessary items are fully stocked in the staging area and on the carts throughout the day.
  • Support the overall golf operation by being a visible and helpful presence, always ready to assist members, guests, and fellow team members.

Secondary Functions

  • Provide on-course support during tournaments and special events, including setting up signage, water stations, and contest markers.
  • Assist the Pro Shop and Locker Room staff during peak times or as needed to ensure seamless overall club operations and member service.
  • Perform minor preventative maintenance on golf carts, such as checking tire pressure and battery water levels, and reporting any significant mechanical issues.
  • Contribute to the overall cleanliness and professional appearance of all outside service areas, including the bag drop, cart barn, and practice facilities.
