Core Responsibilities
Primary Functions
- Greet and welcome all members and guests upon arrival with enthusiasm, offering immediate assistance with golf bags and equipment.
- Manage the transport of golf bags from the bag drop area or personal vehicles to the appropriate golf cart or staging location.
- Meticulously clean, detail, and sanitize the entire fleet of golf carts after each use, ensuring they are fully stocked with scorecards, pencils, tees, and sand bottles.
- Stage golf carts efficiently for daily play, tournaments, and outings, ensuring they are charged, clean, and correctly assigned according to the tee sheet.
- Manage and maintain the driving range and practice facilities, including picking the range, cleaning and stocking golf balls, and ensuring a neat and orderly appearance.
- Provide detailed and accurate information to players regarding course conditions, local rules, pin placements, and facility amenities.
- Communicate effectively and consistently with the Golf Shop, Starters, and Rangers to ensure a smooth pace of play and manage the flow of golfers on the course.
- Politely enforce all club rules and regulations, particularly those related to dress code, cart usage, and on-course etiquette.
- Assist in the professional execution of golf tournaments and corporate outings, including staging carts with player names, setting up on-course contests, and post-event services.
- Upon completion of a round, greet returning players, clean their clubs thoroughly, and assist with transporting bags back to their vehicles or into bag storage.
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the cart barn, bag room, and all outdoor staging areas throughout the day.
- Monitor and replenish on-course and practice area supplies, such as water from coolers, towels, and sand for divot repair.
- Act as a Player Assistant or Marshal on the course, monitoring pace of play and offering assistance to groups as needed to enhance their experience.
- Perform daily opening and closing procedures for all outside service operations, including securing the cart fleet and all related equipment.
- Operate the range ball-picker vehicle safely and efficiently during designated times to retrieve and process range balls.
- Maintain the rental club inventory, ensuring sets are complete, clean, and in good working order for guest use.
- Build rapport with members and guests by learning their names and preferences to provide personalized, anticipatory service.
- Report any damaged carts, equipment malfunctions, or safety hazards to the Outside Services Supervisor or Head Golf Professional immediately.
- Provide support for special club events, including setting up and breaking down event infrastructure and assisting with guest services.
- Handle lost and found inquiries professionally, logging items and making a diligent effort to return them to their rightful owners.
- Proactively engage with guests to answer questions, provide directions, and offer assistance to ensure a flawless and positive experience.
Secondary Functions
- Provide feedback to management on guest experiences, operational challenges, and suggestions for service improvements.
- Collaborate with food and beverage, grounds crew, and pro shop teams to ensure a seamless, fully integrated guest experience across all departments.
- Participate in daily team briefings and staff meetings to review the tee sheet, special events, member requests, and assigned duties.
- Assist with periodic inventory counts for outside operational supplies, such as cart amenities, cleaning products, and range balls.
Required Skills & Competencies
Hard Skills (Technical)
- Deep knowledge of the game of golf, its rules, and proper course etiquette.
- Ability to safely operate and maneuver a golf cart in a crowded environment.
- Experience with Point of Sale (POS) systems for handling guest charges or retail sales.
- Safe operation of driving range equipment, such as the ball-picking machine and ball washer.
- Basic club maintenance skills, including cleaning and re-gripping.
- Familiarity with tee sheet management software (e.g., ForeTees, Chelsea).
- Ability to physically lift, carry, and move golf bags and other objects weighing up to 50 lbs.
- First Aid and CPR certification is a strong asset.
- Competency in managing inventory for rental clubs and operational supplies.
- Strong organizational skills for staging and tracking a large fleet of golf carts.

Educational Background
Minimum Education:
- High School Diploma or GED.
Preferred Education:
- Currently enrolled in or a graduate of a PGA PGM Program.
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.

Experience Requirements
Typical Experience Range:
- 0-2 years of experience in a customer service, hospitality, or golf-related role.
Preferred:
- At least 1 year of experience working in an outside services or golf operations role at a private club, high-end daily fee course, or resort. A genuine passion for the game of golf is highly valued.
