Core Responsibilities
Primary Functions
- Meticulously inspect and verify all incoming raw materials, components, and finished goods against detailed purchase orders, engineering drawings, and quality specifications to ensure they meet stringent company and industry standards.
- Perform comprehensive visual, dimensional, and functional inspections on products at various stages of the production process, from first article inspection (FAI) to in-process checks and final outgoing audits.

- Promptly identify, segregate, and clearly label any non-conforming products or materials to prevent their unintended use or shipment, managing the designated quarantine area effectively.
- Generate and process detailed Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), clearly communicating defects and discrepancies to the Quality Assurance team, production supervisors, and procurement specialists.
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to investigate the root cause of quality issues and contribute to the development and implementation of effective corrective and preventive actions (CAPAs).
- Verify the accuracy of product labeling, packaging, and shipping documentation to ensure compliance with both internal protocols and external customer or regulatory requirements before final shipment.
- Conduct regular audits of production lines and work cells to ensure adherence to established quality procedures, work instructions, and manufacturing best practices.
- Approve finished products for release and shipment after confirming that all quality checks have been successfully completed and documented according to protocol.
- Interpret complex technical documents, including engineering blueprints, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) callouts, and industry-specific standards to make informed inspection decisions.
- Perform sampling inspections based on established statistical plans (e.g., AQL - Acceptable Quality Limit) to make data-driven decisions about the acceptance or rejection of entire product lots.
- Maintain the calibration and operational readiness of all inspection equipment, coordinating with external vendors for service and ensuring all measurement tools are within their certified calibration dates.
- Review and verify supplier-provided certificates of conformity (CoC) and material test reports to confirm that incoming materials meet all required specifications.
- Act as a primary point of contact for resolving quality-related issues on the production floor, providing guidance and support to manufacturing personnel.
- Participate in Material Review Board (MRB) meetings to provide detailed input on the disposition of non-conforming materials, such as rework, scrap, or return to vendor.
- Assist in the training and mentoring of new inspectors or production operators on quality standards, inspection techniques, and the proper use of measurement tools.
- Uphold and enforce all safety regulations and housekeeping standards within the inspection area, ensuring a clean, organized, and safe working environment.
- Evaluate the quality and condition of returned goods (RMAs) to determine the cause of failure and recommend appropriate disposition.
