Core Responsibilities

Primary Functions

Unload merchandise from incoming delivery trucks, pallets, and containers, using appropriate equipment like hand trucks and pallet jacks in a safe and efficient manner.
Meticulously sort and verify incoming goods against delivery notes or invoices, promptly reporting any discrepancies, damages, or shortages to the team lead.
Transport stock from the receiving bay or backroom to the designated sales floor, aisle, or warehouse storage location with care and precision.
Diligently stock shelves, racks, bins, and displays with new products, ensuring items are brought forward and presented in a neat, visually appealing, and organized fashion.
Strictly adhere to planograms and merchandising guidelines to ensure product placement consistency and enhance the customer shopping experience.
Implement the First-In, First-Out (FIFO) stock rotation principle for all perishable and date-sensitive items to minimize spoilage and waste.
Regularly check for and remove expired, discontinued, or damaged products from the shelves, and process them according to company policy.
Construct and set up promotional displays, end caps, and other special merchandising fixtures as directed by management for sales events or seasonal changes.
Ensure all products on the sales floor and in storage are correctly priced and labeled, performing price updates and re-labeling tasks as required.
Systematically condense and organize back-stock in the warehouse or storage area to maximize space and maintain an orderly inventory system.
Operate manual and electric pallet jacks, dollies, and other material handling equipment to move heavy loads, always prioritizing personal and team safety.
Maintain a clean, safe, and unobstructed work environment by clearing aisles of empty boxes, trash, and other debris, and performing regular housekeeping duties.
Monitor stock levels on the sales floor and communicate replenishment needs to the inventory or management team to prevent out-of-stock situations.
Break down and dispose of cardboard boxes and other packaging materials in designated recycling or waste compactors.

Secondary Functions

Assist with periodic physical inventory counts and cycle counts, contributing to the overall accuracy of the store or warehouse's inventory records.
Provide friendly and proactive assistance to customers on the sales floor, helping them locate products and answering basic inquiries.
Collaborate effectively with other team members, including sales associates and cashiers, to ensure a seamless workflow and excellent customer service.
Report any potential safety hazards, equipment malfunctions, or security concerns immediately to a supervisor or manager.
Participate in daily team huddles and training sessions to stay informed about company policies, safety procedures, and daily operational priorities.
Use handheld scanners or other inventory management technology to track product movement, look up item locations, and perform stock adjustments.
