Core Responsibilities
Primary Functions
- Monitor and control critical process parameters such as temperature, pressure, and flow rates using Distributed Control Systems (DCS) or SCADA interfaces to ensure optimal plant performance.
- Operate, monitor, and adjust a variety of complex manufacturing equipment, including reactors, distillation columns, pumps, compressors, and filtration systems, according to strict operational procedures.
- Conduct routine operator rounds, field inspections, and equipment checks to proactively identify potential issues, ensuring mechanical integrity and operational readiness.
- Execute safe and efficient startup, shutdown, and changeover procedures for plant equipment and processes in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Perform in-process quality control checks by collecting process samples and utilizing laboratory equipment to analyze them, ensuring product specifications are consistently met.
- Systematically troubleshoot process upsets, equipment malfunctions, and deviations, applying foundational engineering principles to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
- Uphold and champion a world-class safety culture by strictly adhering to all Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) policies, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), permit-to-work, and emergency response protocols.
- Maintain meticulous and accurate operational records, including digital logbooks, production data sheets, and shift handover reports, to ensure seamless communication and continuity of operations.
- Collaborate directly with process engineers, maintenance technicians, and quality assurance teams to support continuous improvement projects, optimization initiatives, and plant trials.
- Isolate, prepare, and decontaminate equipment safely and effectively to allow for maintenance work, and oversee the safe return to service post-maintenance.
- Manage the handling, storage, and transfer of raw materials, intermediates, and finished products, including performing loading and unloading operations.
- Participate actively in Root Cause Analysis (RCA) investigations for any safety, environmental, or quality incidents to contribute to a culture of learning and prevention.
- Utilize Statistical Process Control (SPC) tools to monitor process stability and variability, escalating any out-of-control trends to engineering support.
- Contribute to the development, review, and revision of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and other operational documentation to reflect best practices and process changes.
- Engage in on-the-job training and formal development programs to continuously build technical skills and knowledge of the plant and its processes.
Secondary Functions
- Support ad-hoc data requests and exploratory data analysis to assist engineering and management in decision-making.
- Contribute to the organization's data strategy and roadmap by providing user feedback on operational data systems.
- Collaborate with business units to translate data needs into engineering requirements, particularly for process monitoring and reporting.
- Participate in sprint planning and agile ceremonies within the data engineering team if assigned to special projects.
- Assist in the commissioning and validation of new equipment and control system logic to ensure it meets operational requirements.

Required Skills & Competencies
Hard Skills (Technical)
- Foundational knowledge of core engineering principles (e.g., thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, heat transfer, mass balance).
- Ability to read and interpret technical diagrams, including Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) and Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs).
- Familiarity with industrial process control systems, such as DCS, PLC, or SCADA.
- Proficiency in data analysis using tools like Microsoft Excel for trending, analysis, and reporting.
- Basic mechanical aptitude for hands-on troubleshooting and minor maintenance tasks.
- Understanding of industrial safety protocols, such as Permit-to-Work systems and Lockout/Tagout (LOTO).

Educational Background
Minimum Education:
