Core Responsibilities

Primary Functions

  • Perform high-end, non-destructive photo retouching and digital manipulation on product and lifestyle imagery, including blemish removal, skin tone correction, and background extension.
  • Execute complex image compositing, combining multiple images, graphics, and effects seamlessly to create cohesive and believable final visuals.
  • Masterfully apply color correction and color grading techniques to ensure consistency across entire image sets and campaigns, matching them to brand palettes or specific creative directions.
  • Crop, resize, and reformat a high volume of images for various platforms, ensuring optimal quality and file size for web, social media, email, and print applications.
  • Review all outgoing visual assets to guarantee they meet strict quality control standards, checking for technical flaws, color inconsistencies, or compositional issues.
  • Collaborate closely with photographers, art directors, and designers to understand the creative vision and execute post-production work that aligns with their goals.
  • Ensure all edited graphics and imagery strictly adhere to established brand identity guidelines, including typography, color usage, and logo placement.
  • Manage and prioritize a demanding workload in a fast-paced environment, often juggling multiple projects with competing deadlines without compromising quality.
  • Prepare final press-ready files for print production, ensuring correct color profiles (CMYK), resolution (DPI), and bleed/trim specifications.
  • Remove, replace, or clean up backgrounds in product photography to create a consistent look, often placing items on pure white or a stylized setting.
  • Create and apply realistic shadows, reflections, and other effects to ground products in their environment and enhance their three-dimensionality.
  • Conduct quality assurance checks on final designs and layouts to ensure they are free of errors before being published or sent to print.
  • Develop and maintain a systematic workflow for processing large batches of images efficiently, utilizing actions, scripts, and templates.
  • Select the best images from photoshoots in collaboration with the creative team, identifying shots with the strongest composition and emotional impact.
  • Create clipping paths and masks with precision to isolate subjects from their backgrounds for use in various composite designs.
  • Perform liquify adjustments, body shaping, and clothing wrinkle removal on fashion and model photography in a natural and tasteful manner.
  • Restore or repair old or damaged photographs, removing dust, scratches, and discoloration while preserving the original character.
  • Design and edit graphical elements like banners, logos, and icons as needed to support marketing campaigns and website content.
  • Archive and manage a large library of digital assets, ensuring logical organization and accurate metadata for easy retrieval by the wider team.
  • Adapt existing creative assets for different international markets, which may include swapping imagery or adjusting layouts to fit cultural contexts.
  • Research and implement new editing techniques and software tools to continually elevate the quality and efficiency of the post-production process.

Required Skills & Competencies

Hard Skills (Technical)

  • Adobe Photoshop: Expert-level proficiency, including advanced layers, masks, smart objects, actions, and non-destructive editing workflows.
  • Adobe Lightroom Classic: Strong skills in batch processing, color grading, and managing large photo catalogs.
  • High-End Retouching: Mastery of techniques like frequency separation, dodging and burning, and advanced healing/cloning.
  • Color Correction & Theory: A deep understanding of color spaces (RGB, CMYK), color profiles, and the ability to achieve accurate and consistent color across all media.
  • Image Compositing & Masking: Precision in creating complex selections and masks using various tools (Pen Tool, channels) to blend elements seamlessly.

  • Typography & Layout: A solid understanding of typographic principles and layout design to ensure text and images work together harmoniously.
