Core Responsibilities

Primary Functions

  • Conceptualize, design, and execute creative, high-quality layouts for multi-page documents, including catalogs, annual reports, magazines, and white papers.
  • Develop and produce a wide array of marketing and sales collateral such as brochures, flyers, datasheets, case studies, and direct mail pieces, ensuring they are visually compelling and on-brand.
  • Translate strategic direction and creative briefs into engaging visual designs that effectively communicate the intended message to the target audience.
  • Maintain and enforce strict adherence to corporate brand standards, including typography, color palettes, logo usage, and imagery across all created materials.
  • Prepare, package, and pre-flight final design files for print production, liaising with print vendors to ensure quality control, proper color management, and timely delivery.
  • Adapt and resize existing design concepts for various digital platforms, creating assets for social media campaigns, web banners, email marketing templates, and online advertisements.
  • Select, edit, crop, and retouch photography and illustrations to enhance layouts and ensure they are optimized for both print and digital formats.
  • Design and develop clear and effective data visualizations, such as charts, graphs, and infographics, to simplify complex information for easy consumption.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including copywriters, editors, marketing managers, and project managers, to ensure a seamless integration of text and visuals.
  • Manage multiple design projects concurrently, effectively prioritizing tasks and managing timelines from initial concept through to final delivery in a fast-paced environment.
  • Present design mockups and concepts to stakeholders, clearly articulating design choices and strategically incorporating feedback through iterative revisions.
  • Create and manage a library of master templates and style sheets for frequently produced materials to improve efficiency and maintain brand consistency.
  • Actively participate in brainstorming sessions and contribute creative ideas for new marketing campaigns and visual strategies.
  • Stay current with the latest design trends, industry software, and best practices in layout design, typography, and visual communication.
  • Review and proofread all layouts for accuracy, paying close attention to details like spelling, grammar, and alignment before final output.
  • Develop a strong visual hierarchy within each layout to guide the reader's eye and emphasize key messaging points effectively.
  • Work with web developers to provide properly formatted and optimized graphic assets for websites, landing pages, and other digital experiences.
  • Source and manage a library of stock photography, illustrations, and other visual assets, ensuring proper licensing and usage rights.
  • Redesign and refresh existing company materials to align with evolving brand strategies, product updates, and market trends.
  • Ensure all final assets are properly archived and organized within the digital asset management (DAM) system for future use and reference.

Required Skills & Competencies

Hard Skills (Technical)

  • Expert-level proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, particularly InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator.
  • A strong, sophisticated understanding of typography, color theory, visual hierarchy, and grid-based layout principles.
  • In-depth knowledge of pre-press processes, file preparation, and working with print vendors to ensure high-quality output.
  • Proven experience designing for digital formats, including web, social media, and email marketing, with an understanding of file optimization.
  • Competency in Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Word) for creating and styling branded corporate documents and presentations.
  • Experience with photo editing, color correction, and image manipulation techniques.
