Core Responsibilities
Primary Functions
- Conduct comprehensive on-site and remote energy audits for commercial, industrial, and residential clients to identify opportunities for energy savings and renewable energy integration.
- Analyze client utility data, billing structures, and energy consumption patterns to establish baseline performance and model potential savings.
- Develop and present detailed feasibility studies for renewable energy projects, including solar PV, wind, geothermal, and battery storage systems.
- Perform complex financial modeling, including return on investment (ROI), payback period, levelized cost of energy (LCOE), and net present value (NPV) to build a compelling business case for clients.
- Advise clients on navigating federal, state, and local government incentives, tax credits, rebates, and grant programs to maximize project financial viability.
- Prepare and deliver high-impact proposals and presentations to diverse stakeholders, from facility managers to C-suite executives, clearly articulating technical concepts and financial benefits.
- Manage the entire project lifecycle for green energy installations, from initial concept and design through vendor selection, construction oversight, and commissioning.
- Evaluate and recommend energy procurement strategies, including Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) and Virtual Power Purchase Agreements (VPPAs).
- Calculate organizational carbon footprints and develop actionable, science-based decarbonization and net-zero strategies.
- Stay at the forefront of the green energy sector, continuously researching emerging technologies, market trends, and shifts in energy policy and regulations.
- Liaise with utilities, government agencies, contractors, and equipment vendors on behalf of the client to ensure seamless project execution.
- Author detailed technical reports, case studies, and strategic sustainability roadmaps that serve as a guide for clients' long-term energy management.
- Assess the technical and economic viability of integrating energy efficiency measures, such as LED lighting retrofits, HVAC upgrades, and building automation systems.
- Provide expert guidance on green building certifications and standards like LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) and BREEAM.
- Develop and lead client workshops and training sessions on topics of energy conservation, sustainability best practices, and new technologies.
