Core Responsibilities

Primary Functions

Execute precise daily watering routines for a wide variety of plant species, monitoring soil moisture levels to ensure optimal hydration without causing over-saturation.
Perform high-volume transplanting of seedlings, plugs, and cuttings from propagation trays to larger containers, ensuring minimal root disturbance.
Assist in plant propagation efforts, including sowing seeds, taking cuttings, and dividing plants according to established horticultural protocols.
Apply fertilizers, fungicides, and growth regulators as directed by the Head Grower, maintaining accurate application records.
Actively monitor crops for early signs of pests and diseases, reporting any observations promptly to supervisors for immediate action.
Conduct regular pruning, pinching, and spacing of plants to promote healthy growth, encourage branching, and ensure adequate air circulation.
Prepare and mix soil and other growing media to specific formulations required for different plant varieties and growth stages.
Harvest plants, flowers, or vegetables according to strict quality standards and delivery schedules, handling produce with care to prevent damage.
Operate and perform basic preventative maintenance on greenhouse machinery such as potting machines, seeders, flat fillers, and transport carts.
Accurately pull, stage, and prepare plant orders for shipping, ensuring correct counts, varieties, and quality for customer satisfaction.
Load and unload trucks carrying live plants, hard goods, and raw materials, using proper lifting techniques and equipment to prevent injury or damage.
Assist in the manual or automated regulation of greenhouse environmental conditions, including opening/closing vents, and managing shade cloths.
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment by sweeping aisles, sanitizing benches, and removing plant debris and waste materials.

Secondary Functions
