Core Responsibilities

Primary Functions

Operate specialized mowers with high precision to manicure putting greens, tees, and collars, adhering to strict height-of-cut standards.
Walk-mow or roll greens to ensure optimal smoothness and ball speed, often in the early morning hours to prepare the course for daily play.
Rake and groom sand bunkers both manually and with mechanical rakes to maintain consistent texture and playability.
Perform daily course setup duties, including cutting new cup locations on greens, moving tee markers, and positioning on-course accessories.
Execute hand-watering of greens, tees, and other critical turf areas to supplement irrigation and manage localized dry spots.
Assist with comprehensive turf health programs, including the application of fertilizers and topdressing sand under direct supervision.
Participate in seasonal cultural practices such as core aeration, verticutting, and deep-tine aeration to promote soil and turf health.
Identify and manually remove invasive weeds from playing surfaces and landscape beds to maintain aesthetic and agronomic integrity.
Edge cart paths, bunkers, and landscape beds to create clean, defined lines and prevent encroachment of grass.
Repair ball marks on greens and fill divots on tees and fairways with a sand/seed mix to promote rapid turf recovery.
Operate a variety of groundskeeping equipment, including fairway mowers, rough mowers, string trimmers, blowers, and utility vehicles, in a safe and efficient manner.
Monitor turf conditions for signs of stress, disease, or insect activity and report any observations promptly to a supervisor.
