Core Responsibilities

Primary Functions

Execute comprehensive turf management programs, including precision mowing, edging, aeration, and fertilization to maintain the health and aesthetic appeal of all lawn areas.
Meticulously maintain all ornamental beds and gardens through diligent weeding, cultivating, mulching, and watering to promote plant vitality and a pristine appearance.
Perform seasonal planting and transplantation of annuals, perennials, shrubs, and trees according to landscape designs and horticultural best practices.
Implement integrated pest management (IPM) strategies, including identifying common plant diseases and pests and applying appropriate treatments and fertilizers safely and effectively.
Conduct skilled pruning and trimming of trees, shrubs, and hedges to ensure their structural integrity, health, and desired shape.
Operate, monitor, and perform minor repairs on irrigation and sprinkler systems to ensure efficient water distribution and conservation across the property.
Operate a wide array of powered landscaping equipment, such as zero-turn mowers, tractors, blowers, trimmers, chainsaws, and tillers, with a strong emphasis on safety.
Perform routine preventive maintenance on all grounds equipment, including cleaning, blade sharpening, oil changes, and fueling, to ensure operational readiness and longevity.
Execute seasonal grounds activities, including comprehensive spring cleanup, leaf collection and removal in the fall, and preparation of grounds for winter.
Ensure the safety of all walkways, parking lots, and entrances during inclement weather through diligent snow and ice removal, including shoveling, plowing, and applying de-icing agents.
Maintain the cleanliness and order of all outdoor areas by regularly collecting and disposing of litter, debris, and waste from grounds and receptacles.
Care for and maintain hardscape features, including pressure washing walkways, cleaning patios, and performing minor repairs on paths, fences, and benches.
Prepare and amend soil for new plantings, ensuring proper composition and nutrient levels for optimal plant growth.
Assist in the implementation of small-scale landscape construction projects, such as installing retaining walls, laying pavers, or building new garden beds.
Proactively inspect the grounds to identify and report any potential safety hazards, maintenance needs, or areas for landscape improvement to the supervisor.

Secondary Functions
