Core Responsibilities

Primary Functions

Execute comprehensive turf management programs, including mowing, edging, and string-trimming lawns and athletic fields to maintain a neat and uniform appearance.
Perform a full range of horticultural tasks, such as planting, watering, fertilizing, and mulching trees, shrubs, flowers, and other plant materials to ensure their health and vitality.
Skillfully prune and trim trees, shrubs, and hedges to promote healthy growth, improve shape, and ensure clearance for walkways and buildings.
Apply fertilizers, herbicides, and pesticides in a safe and effective manner, following all application guidelines and safety protocols to control weeds and pests.
Operate a wide array of powered landscaping and grounds equipment, including commercial-grade mowers, tractors, aerators, leaf blowers, and snow removal machinery.
Conduct seasonal grounds maintenance, such as comprehensive leaf collection and removal in the fall and diligent snow and ice removal from sidewalks, stairs, and parking lots in the winter.
Maintain and perform minor repairs on irrigation systems, including sprinklers, heads, and lines, to ensure efficient water distribution and conservation.
