Core Responsibilities
Primary Functions
- Design and choreograph dynamic, safe, and effective group fitness programs tailored to the specific class format (e.g., HIIT, Strength, Yoga, Cycling) and member demographics.
- Lead and instruct energizing, entertaining, and well-organized group fitness classes, ensuring a seamless flow from warm-up to cool-down.
- Demonstrate all exercises with proper form and technique, providing clear, concise verbal cues and instructions to guide participants.
- Offer a range of progressions and regressions for all exercises to accommodate members with varying fitness levels, from beginners to advanced athletes.
- Create an inclusive, welcoming, and high-energy class environment that fosters community, encourages participation, and makes fitness enjoyable.
- Develop and curate engaging music playlists that match the intensity and tempo of the class, enhancing the overall member experience.
- Arrive at the studio at least 15 minutes prior to class start time to prepare the studio, check equipment, set up audio/visuals, and greet members as they arrive.
- Proactively build relationships with members, learning their names, understanding their goals, and providing personalized encouragement and feedback.
- Continuously monitor the class participants to ensure their safety, offering immediate corrections to form and technique to prevent injury.
- Promote studio classes, programs, and special events to drive class attendance and contribute to member acquisition and retention goals.
- Maintain a professional and polished appearance, adhering to company uniform and brand standards at all times.
- Act as a knowledgeable resource for members, answering questions about fitness, nutrition, and the club's services.
- Diligently track class attendance and maintain accurate records as required by management.
- Respond constructively to member feedback and concerns, striving for continuous improvement and service excellence.
- Ensure the group fitness studio is left in a clean, organized, and safe condition, with all equipment properly wiped down and stored.

Required Skills & Competencies
Hard Skills (Technical)
- Nationally recognized Group Fitness Certification (e.g., ACE, AFAA, NASM).
- Current CPR/AED and First Aid Certification.
- Specialized certifications in formats being taught (e.g., Zumba®, Les Mills®, Yoga RYT-200, Spinning®, TRX®).
- Strong knowledge of human anatomy, kinesiology, and the principles of safe and effective exercise design.
- Ability to proficiently use audio equipment and music software to create a seamless class soundtrack.
- Competency in demonstrating a wide variety of exercises with flawless form and execution.
- Understanding of class programming and structuring, including warm-ups, progressions, and cool-downs.

Experience Requirements
Typical Experience Range: 1-3 years of active experience leading group fitness classes in a commercial gym or studio setting.
