Core Responsibilities
Primary Functions
- Design and choreograph dynamic, safe, and effective group fitness classes that align with the brand's standards and cater to a wide range of fitness levels and abilities.
- Lead scheduled classes with enthusiasm and high energy, ensuring a consistent and exceptional member experience from the warm-up to the cool-down.
- Clearly articulate and demonstrate proper exercise form and technique, providing verbal and visual cues to guide participants accurately.

- Arrive at the studio well in advance of the scheduled class time to prepare the room, set up necessary equipment, and greet members as they arrive.
- Create a welcoming and inclusive class atmosphere, fostering a sense of community and encouraging interaction among participants.
- Proactively engage with members before and after class to answer questions, offer encouragement, and build strong professional relationships.
- Monitor participants during class for signs of improper form, physical distress, or potential injury, and provide immediate, constructive feedback and support.
- Stay current with the latest fitness trends, exercise science principles, and industry best practices to ensure class content remains fresh, relevant, and effective.
- Confidently manage class logistics, including taking attendance, managing waitlists, and ensuring a smooth transition between classes.
- Maintain the studio space by ensuring all equipment (weights, mats, bikes, etc.) is properly used, cleaned, and returned to its designated storage area after class.

- Actively seek and graciously accept feedback from members and management to continuously improve teaching skills and class offerings.
- Master the specific class format's choreography, brand language, and teaching standards if working for a licensed program (e.g., Les Mills, Zumba, SpinningĀ®).
- Effectively manage the sound system and microphone to ensure music and voice levels are clear, balanced, and motivating without being overwhelming.
- Respond calmly and professionally to any in-class incidents or emergencies, following established safety protocols and administering first aid or CPR if necessary.
- Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor, acting as a positive brand ambassador for the fitness facility at all times.
- Reliably secure a qualified substitute from the approved instructor list for any classes you are unable to teach, providing them with the necessary class plan.
