Core Responsibilities

Primary Functions

  • Conduct in-depth market research and competitive analysis to inform business strategy and identify emerging industry trends.
  • Analyze complex datasets to extract actionable insights, support data-driven decision-making, and track key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Assist in the preparation and delivery of detailed reports, compelling presentations, and executive summaries for senior leadership and key stakeholders.
  • Support project management teams by tracking project timelines, milestones, and deliverables, ensuring alignment with strategic goals.
  • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including Finance, Marketing, Operations, and Technology, to support integrated business initiatives.
  • Contribute to the development and refinement of business processes to enhance efficiency, reduce friction, and drive operational excellence.
  • Actively participate in team meetings, brainstorming sessions, and strategic workshops, contributing fresh perspectives and innovative ideas.
  • Assist in financial modeling, forecasting, and variance analysis to support budgeting cycles and long-range financial planning.
  • Help create and manage engaging content for internal communications, such as newsletters, intranet updates, and company-wide announcements.
  • Engage in the end-to-end lifecycle of a special project, from conceptualization and planning through to execution and post-mortem analysis.
  • Develop and maintain dashboards and data visualizations to provide clear and concise insights into business performance for various audiences.
  • Liaise directly with internal stakeholders to gather project requirements, provide regular updates, and ensure clear, consistent communication.
  • Support the business development team by researching potential partners, new market opportunities, or strategic acquisition targets.
  • Prepare and deliver a final presentation on a key project, your learnings, and research findings to the leadership team at the conclusion of the internship.
  • Monitor industry news, regulatory changes, and economic reports to assess potential impacts on the business and inform proactive adjustments.

Secondary Functions

  • Support ad-hoc data requests and exploratory data analysis to answer pressing business questions.
  • Contribute to the organization's data strategy and roadmap by helping document data sources and definitions.
  • Collaborate with business units to translate data needs into engineering requirements for our technical teams.
  • Participate in sprint planning and agile ceremonies within the data engineering and project management teams.
  • Assist in documenting meeting minutes, action items, and key decisions to ensure accountability and effective follow-through.
  • Perform quality assurance and user acceptance testing (UAT) for new software applications or system updates before they go live.
  • Shadow senior team members across different departments to gain a comprehensive understanding of various business functions and leadership styles.
  • Provide logistical and administrative support for key projects and events, including scheduling meetings and preparing necessary materials.
  • Assist in the creation of training materials and documentation for new tools or processes being implemented across the group.

Required Skills & Competencies

Hard Skills (Technical)

  • Microsoft Office Proficiency: Advanced command of Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, complex functions), PowerPoint (deck creation, data visualization), and Word.
  • Data Analysis: Foundational ability to clean, analyze, and interpret data. Experience with SQL, Python, or R is a significant plus but not required.
  • Research Acumen: Skill in conducting thorough primary and secondary research using online databases, industry reports, and other sources.
  • Presentation Skills: Ability to synthesize complex information into a clear, concise, and compelling narrative for diverse audiences.
  • Data Visualization (Preferred): Familiarity with tools like Tableau, Power BI, or even advanced Excel charting to create impactful visual stories from data.
