Primary Functions

  • Strategic Leadership & Vision: Develop, articulate, and execute a multi-year strategic vision and roadmap for a portfolio of products or a large functional area, ensuring alignment with overarching company goals.
  • Leadership Development: Lead, mentor, and develop a team of managers, focusing on enhancing their leadership capabilities, strategic thinking, and team management skills.
  • Organizational Health & Culture: Champion and cultivate a high-performance, inclusive, and innovative culture, fostering psychological safety and a strong sense of ownership across all teams.
  • Cross-Functional Alignment: Drive deep, collaborative partnerships with leaders in engineering, design, marketing, sales, and operations to ensure cohesive strategy and seamless execution.
  • Business Accountability: Own the overall business performance, key performance indicators (KPIs), and potentially the Profit & Loss (P&L) for the assigned group or product line.
    -Executive Communication: Serve as the primary communication bridge between senior leadership (Directors, VPs) and the individual teams, translating strategy downwards and escalating insights and results upwards.
  • Resource & Budget Management: Oversee strategic resource allocation, headcount planning, and budget management for the entire group to ensure teams are staffed and funded to meet their objectives.
  • High-Stakes Decision Making: Make, and be accountable for, critical decisions regarding product direction, feature prioritization, architectural trade-offs, and go-to-market strategies.
  • Operational Excellence: Set and maintain exceptionally high standards for quality, delivery cadence, and operational rigor across all teams within the group.
  • Stakeholder Influence: Cultivate and manage strong relationships with key internal stakeholders, external partners, and major customers to ensure the group's strategy is informed by and influential within the broader ecosystem.
  • Organizational Design: Proactively define and refine the organizational structure of the group to optimize for efficient execution, communication, and future scalability.
  • Risk Mitigation: Identify, assess, and proactively mitigate strategic risks related to timelines, budget, competition, and technology for the entire group's portfolio.
  • Recruitment and Talent Strategy: Drive the overall talent strategy for the group, leading the recruitment, hiring, and onboarding process for key roles, including other managers.
