Primary Functions

  • Precisely cut leather hides, textiles, and lining materials using both traditional hand tools and modern die-cutting machinery, ensuring optimal material usage and minimizing waste.
  • Skillfully install and secure various types of hardware, including complex locks, clasps, zippers, handle attachments, and protective feet, ensuring perfect function and alignment.
  • Construct complete handbag prototypes and sales samples from start to finish, providing critical, constructive feedback to designers on construction feasibility and potential improvements.
  • Conduct rigorous in-process and final quality control inspections to identify and rectify any defects in materials, stitching, alignment, or overall construction.
  • Collaborate directly with the design and product development teams to troubleshoot complex construction challenges and refine patterns for optimal manufacturability.
  • Manage and maintain an organized inventory of components, specialized materials, and tools required for daily production tasks, anticipating future needs.
  • Adhere to strict production schedules and project deadlines while consistently upholding the highest possible standards of craftsmanship and quality.
  • Meticulously prepare and assemble all handbag components, including main panels, gussets, straps, and internal pockets, ensuring perfect alignment before final stitching.
  • Document production processes and detailed construction methods for new styles to create standardized work instructions for the wider production team.
  • Perform routine maintenance, cleaning, and basic repairs on sewing machines and other workshop equipment to ensure consistent performance and prevent downtime.
  • Work with a diverse range of materials, including various types of leather (calfskin, goat, exotic), canvas, and technical textiles, understanding their unique properties and handling requirements.
  • Apply adhesives and structural reinforcements with precision to strengthen key stress points and ensure the long-term durability and shape retention of the handbag.
