Core Responsibilities

Primary Functions

Interpret complex blueprints, technical drawings, and 3D models to understand project scope, material requirements, and construction specifications.
Select, grade, and prepare high-quality raw materials, such as hardwoods, veneers, and metals, ensuring they meet aesthetic and structural standards for each project.
Operate a wide range of professional-grade woodworking and fabrication machinery with precision and a focus on safety, including table saws, jointers, planers, bandsaws, and CNC routers.
Expertly utilize a diverse set of hand tools, including chisels, hand planes, scrapers, and saws, to perform fine-tuning, shaping, and intricate detail work.
Execute a variety of traditional and modern joinery techniques, such as mortise and tenon, dovetails, and complex miter joints, to ensure structural integrity and aesthetic excellence.
Assemble components and sub-assemblies with extreme accuracy, ensuring tight fits, perfect alignment, and adherence to design specifications.
Perform meticulous sanding, scraping, and surface preparation to create a flawless foundation for the application of high-end finishes.
Apply a range of finishes, including stains, oils, lacquers, and paints, using techniques like hand-rubbing, spraying, and brushing to achieve the desired look and durability.
Collaborate directly with designers, project managers, and clients to provide expert feedback on build feasibility, material choices, and potential design improvements.

Maintain all tools and machinery in excellent working condition through regular cleaning, calibration, and preventative maintenance.
Handle the careful packaging, transport, and on-site installation of finished pieces, ensuring a professional and damage-free final delivery.

Stay current with emerging industry trends, advanced techniques, new materials, and innovative technologies to continuously elevate your craft.

Required Skills & Competencies

Hard Skills (Technical)

Advanced Woodworking Machinery: Mastery of table saws, jointers, planers, shapers, routers, and sanders.
Precision Hand Tool Proficiency: Expertise with chisels, hand planes, carving tools, and Japanese saws.
Joinery Expertise: Deep knowledge of and ability to execute complex joinery (e.g., dovetails, mortise & tenon).
