Core Responsibilities

Primary Functions

Safely and skillfully operate heavy-duty commercial trucks, such as roll-off trucks, tractor-trailers, dump trucks, or front-loaders, in various weather and traffic conditions.
Conduct comprehensive pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections in line with DOT standards, meticulously checking tires, brakes, lights, fluids, and safety equipment.
Accurately complete and maintain all required paperwork, including driver logs (ELDs), inspection reports, trip sheets, and shipping manifests, ensuring full legal compliance.
Professionally and courteously interact with customers, dispatchers, and on-site personnel to confirm service details, provide updates, and resolve minor issues.
Execute the proper and safe loading, unloading, and securing of cargo, materials, or containers, adhering to all weight restrictions and load distribution guidelines.
Navigate routes efficiently using GPS systems, maps, and dispatcher instructions to ensure timely pickups and deliveries while adapting to unforeseen delays.
Perform routine checks and minor preventative maintenance on the vehicle, such as cleaning, fluid top-offs, and reporting any malfunctions or repair needs promptly to the maintenance team.
Adhere strictly to all company safety protocols, traffic laws, and federal/state transportation regulations to maintain a stellar safety record.
Responsible for positioning and removing large containers (e.g., roll-off dumpsters) at customer sites, requiring precision maneuvering in potentially tight spaces.
Maintain a clean and organized truck cab and report any damage to the vehicle's interior or exterior immediately.
Utilize a two-way radio or company-provided mobile device for consistent and professional communication with the dispatch center.
Wear all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including steel-toed boots, safety glasses, and high-visibility clothing, at all times while on duty.

Manage fuel and service expenses effectively using a company-provided fuel card and maintain accurate records of all transactions.

Secondary Functions
