Core Responsibilities

Primary Functions

  • Develop, implement, and continuously evaluate comprehensive, multi-year health and wellness strategies designed to improve population health outcomes and reduce long-term healthcare costs.
  • Analyze health data, biometric screening results, and claims information to identify significant health trends, risk factors, and opportunities for targeted intervention.
  • Design and execute engaging health promotion campaigns, wellness challenges, and educational workshops on critical topics like nutrition, stress management, physical activity, and chronic disease prevention.
  • Manage relationships with external vendors, including health insurance carriers, wellness providers, and Employee Assistance Programs (EAP), to ensure service level agreements are met and services are high-quality.
  • Serve as the organization's primary subject matter expert on health, wellness, and benefits-related topics, providing expert guidance and support to HR partners and leadership.
  • Develop and manage the annual wellness budget, meticulously tracking expenditures and creating compelling reports to demonstrate a clear return on investment (ROI) for all initiatives.
  • Ensure all health and wellness programs remain fully compliant with relevant legal and privacy regulations, including HIPAA, GINA, and the ACA, while safeguarding the confidentiality of all employee health information.
  • Establish, track, and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness and impact of health management programs on employee well-being, engagement, and productivity.
  • Chair or co-chair the corporate wellness committee, fostering a vibrant culture of health by empowering and mobilizing wellness champions across different departments and locations.
  • Stay abreast of the latest industry trends, best practices, and scientific research in population health management and behavior change to ensure programs are innovative and evidence-based.
  • Prepare and present regular, insightful reports and executive summaries to senior leadership on program performance, population health trends, and strategic recommendations for future enhancements.
  • Oversee the implementation and promotion of digital health tools and platforms, working to drive employee adoption and maximize engagement with available resources.
  • Partner with safety and environmental health departments to integrate wellness initiatives with occupational health and injury prevention efforts, promoting a holistic view of employee safety and well-being.
  • Champion the integration of mental and emotional well-being resources into the overall wellness strategy, actively working to destigmatize mental health and address issues like burnout and stress.
  • Coordinate all logistics for on-site and virtual health events, including biometric screenings, flu shot clinics, fitness classes, mental health seminars, and health fairs.

  • Respond to and manage escalated employee inquiries regarding health benefits and wellness programs with a high degree of empathy, professionalism, and accuracy.

Education & Experience

Educational Background

Minimum Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution.

Preferred Education:

  • Master's Degree in Public Health (MPH), Health Administration (MHA), Health Promotion, or a related field.
