Core Responsibilities
Primary Functions
- Conduct comprehensive diagnostic assessments on a wide variety of heating equipment, including gas furnaces, oil boilers, electric heat pumps, and ductless mini-split systems, to accurately identify malfunctions and their root causes.

- Install new residential and light commercial heating systems, which involves setting equipment, running fuel lines, fabricating and connecting ductwork, and performing electrical wiring according to code and manufacturer specifications.
- Skillfully braze and solder refrigerant lines for heat pump systems, ensuring leak-free connections and proper system integrity.
- Utilize a range of diagnostic tools, including multimeters, combustion analyzers, manifold gauges, and leak detectors, to troubleshoot and verify system operations.
- Respond promptly to emergency service calls, often outside of normal business hours, to restore heating for customers in a timely and efficient manner.
- Provide clear, professional explanations of diagnoses, proposed repairs, and associated costs to customers, ensuring they understand the work being performed.
- Educate homeowners and building managers on the proper operation and maintenance of their heating systems to promote energy efficiency and prevent future breakdowns.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked service vehicle with the necessary parts and tools to complete a high percentage of service calls on the first visit.
- Adhere strictly to all local, state, and federal building codes, as well as all company safety policies and procedures, to ensure a safe work environment for oneself and others.
- Accurately complete all required documentation, including work orders, service reports, and parts invoices, using mobile software or paper forms.

- Perform professional commissioning and start-up procedures for newly installed equipment to verify it meets performance and safety standards.
- Troubleshoot and repair hydronic heating systems, including boilers, circulator pumps, expansion tanks, and radiators, identifying and resolving issues with water flow and temperature.
