Core Responsibilities

Primary Functions

Operate high-pressure steam and water-based washing equipment to thoroughly clean the exterior, undercarriage, and components of heavy equipment.
Meticulously clean and detail the interior of machine cabs, including windows, dashboards, floors, and upholstery, ensuring a safe and comfortable environment for operators.
Safely and effectively utilize a variety of industrial-strength cleaning agents, degreasers, and solvents to remove stubborn grime, oil, and contaminants.
Prepare equipment for painting or decal application by ensuring surfaces are impeccably clean, dry, and free of residue.
Maneuver and position various types of heavy equipment, such as excavators, loaders, and dozers, in and out of the wash bay area in a safe and proficient manner.
Perform detailed final-pass inspections on cleaned equipment to ensure it meets company standards for presentation and readiness.
Apply protective coatings, waxes, or polishes to painted surfaces to enhance appearance and protect against the elements.
Treat and condition vinyl and rubber components, such as hoses and tires, to prolong their life and maintain a professional appearance.
Scrape and remove caked-on mud, asphalt, concrete, and other materials from tracks, wheels, and frames using specialized hand tools.
Ensure all safety and brand decals are clean, visible, and intact, reporting any that are damaged or missing.
Decontaminate equipment as required, following specific protocols for handling potentially hazardous materials.
Execute systematic cleaning of engine compartments and hydraulic systems to aid in the early detection of leaks or mechanical issues.

Secondary Functions

Conduct routine inspections and perform minor preventative maintenance on wash bay equipment, including pressure washers, pumps, and water reclamation systems.
Diligently maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment within the wash bay and surrounding areas, including managing water runoff and cleaning spills.
Monitor and manage inventory levels of cleaning supplies, chemicals, and personal protective equipment (PPE), submitting requisition requests as needed.
Act as a crucial set of eyes for the maintenance team by identifying and reporting any visible equipment damage, fluid leaks, or wear and tear discovered during the cleaning process.
Complete and maintain accurate logs and records of equipment cleaned, services performed, and time spent on each task.
Adhere strictly to all company safety policies and procedures, including the proper use of all required PPE and understanding of Safety Data Sheets (SDS) for all chemicals.
