Core Responsibilities
Primary Functions
- Interpret and work from complex engineering blueprints, technical drawings, and manufacturing work instructions to guide assembly operations.

- Apply aerospace-grade sealants, adhesives, and corrosion-prevention compounds to structural seams, joints, and faying surfaces.
- Utilize a wide range of hand, pneumatic, and power tools, including drill motors, rivet guns, torque wrenches, and specialized jigs and fixtures.
- Perform meticulous measurements using precision instruments like calipers, micrometers, and depth gauges to verify parts and assembly tolerances.
- Conduct rigorous in-process quality checks and self-inspections at every stage of the build to identify and correct any deviations from quality standards.
- Collaborate with manufacturing engineers and quality teams to troubleshoot and resolve assembly issues, interpret drawing discrepancies, and implement effective solutions.
- Install various aircraft systems, including cockpit instrumentation, avionics racks, fuel systems, and environmental controls.
- Perform critical component fitting, shimming, and trimming operations to achieve the precise gaps and flushness required by engineering specifications.
- Maintain detailed and accurate records of all work performed, including part traceability, serial numbers, and task sign-offs within the manufacturing execution system (MES).
- Adhere strictly to all company and FAA safety protocols, including the correct use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and proper handling of hazardous materials.
- Uphold and champion stringent tool control and Foreign Object Debris (FOD) prevention programs to ensure a clean and safe build environment.
- Assist in the setup, alignment, and maintenance of the large assembly jigs and fixtures that form the skeleton of the production line.
- Perform and document functional tests on installed systems, such as checking for hydraulic leaks, verifying electrical continuity, and testing the range of motion of flight controls.
- Prepare and position the aircraft for subsequent production stages, ensuring a smooth handoff to paint, flight line, or final testing teams.
- Rig, adjust, and functionally test flight control systems to ensure they operate smoothly and within specified parameters.
- Install cabin and cockpit interior components, including seats, soundproofing, paneling, and emergency equipment.
