Core Responsibilities

Primary Functions

  • Conduct comprehensive scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, inspections, and repairs on helicopter airframes, engines (piston and turbine), and associated components in strict accordance with FAA regulations and manufacturer's maintenance manuals.
  • Perform detailed 50-hour, 100-hour, and annual inspections, as well as major airframe and engine overhauls, ensuring all systems meet or exceed established airworthiness standards.
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and rectify complex mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical system discrepancies using advanced diagnostic tools, schematics, and technical documentation.
  • Execute intricate maintenance tasks specific to rotary-wing aircraft, including main and tail rotor tracking and balancing, transmission and gearbox servicing, and flight control rigging.
  • Complete major and minor repairs and alterations to aircraft structures, including sheet metal and advanced composite materials, ensuring structural integrity is maintained.
  • Install, test, and troubleshoot sophisticated avionics systems, including navigation, communication, and flight control systems, ensuring seamless integration and functionality.
  • Meticulously document all maintenance performed, parts used, and corrective actions taken in aircraft logbooks and digital maintenance tracking systems to ensure a complete and auditable service history.
  • Interpret and apply Airworthiness Directives (ADs), Service Bulletins (SBs), and other technical data from regulatory bodies and manufacturers to maintain fleet compliance.
  • Perform engine performance checks, including power assurance checks and trend monitoring, to assess engine health and predict potential issues.
  • Maintain and service essential aircraft components such as landing gear, brakes, fuel systems, and environmental control systems.
  • Respond to and resolve Aircraft on Ground (AOG) situations with urgency, often in high-pressure environments, to return aircraft to service safely and efficiently.
  • Ensure all work is accomplished with the highest standards of safety, cleanliness, and professionalism, maintaining a safe and organized work environment.
  • Review and sign off on work performed by junior technicians, providing mentorship and ensuring all tasks are completed to the required standard.
  • Conduct pre-flight and post-flight inspections to identify any potential issues that may have arisen during flight operations.
  • Manage and maintain all calibrated tools and ground support equipment (GSE), ensuring they are in good working order and certification is current.
  • Assist in the preparation of aircraft for specific missions, including the installation and removal of mission-specific equipment (e.g., hoists, cameras, medical interiors).
  • Perform functional check flights and ground runs in collaboration with pilots to verify the correct operation of systems following maintenance.
  • Order, receive, and inspect aircraft parts and materials to ensure they are the correct type, are free from damage, and have the proper certification paperwork.
  • Maintain a current and comprehensive understanding of Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs) pertaining to aircraft maintenance and airworthiness.
  • Interface with pilots and flight crews to debrief on aircraft performance and troubleshoot reported discrepancies, fostering a collaborative and safety-focused culture.

Secondary Functions

  • Support the movement and ground handling of aircraft within the hangar and on the flight line.

Education & Experience

Educational Background

Minimum Education:
