Core Responsibilities
Primary Functions
- Provide exceptional, in-depth, one-on-one consultations to customers, actively listening to their health concerns and wellness goals to offer tailored product recommendations.
- Educate customers on the properties, benefits, usage, and potential contraindications of a wide range of herbs, vitamins, and dietary supplements.
- Develop and maintain a strong, loyal customer base by building rapport, trust, and providing consistent, high-quality follow-up and support.
- Drive sales and achieve store targets by effectively communicating product value and recommending complementary items to create holistic wellness routines.
- Maintain an expert-level knowledge of all store products, including herbal tinctures, teas, capsules, topicals, and nutritional supplements.
- Stay current with the latest scientific research, industry trends, and new product developments within the natural health and herbalism fields.
- Assist customers in navigating the store, locating products, and understanding different brands and formulations to make informed purchasing decisions.
- Operate the point-of-sale (POS) system efficiently and accurately for all customer transactions, including sales, returns, and exchanges.
- Ensure all interactions and recommendations are compliant with FDA, DSHEA, and other relevant regulations, avoiding any disease claims.
- Articulate complex information about botanical medicine and human physiology in a clear, accessible, and easy-to-understand manner for the general public.
- Proactively engage with customers on the sales floor to create a welcoming, supportive, and educational shopping environment.
- Manage and respond to customer inquiries received via phone, email, or in-person with professionalism and accuracy.

Secondary Functions
- Assist in the planning and execution of in-store educational events, workshops, and product demonstrations to engage the community.

- Participate in regular inventory management, including cycle counts, stock rotation (FIFO), and checking for expired products.
- Support the receiving and unpacking of new shipments, verifying accuracy against purchase orders and stocking shelves accordingly.
- Collaborate with the marketing team by contributing ideas or content for newsletters, social media posts, and blog articles focused on herbal wellness.
- Provide ongoing training and product knowledge support to other team members to elevate the entire store's expertise.
