Core Responsibilities

Primary Functions

  • Stay at the forefront of horticultural innovation by continuously researching and evaluating new technologies, cultivation techniques, and scientific breakthroughs.
  • Design, manage, and report on field trials and research projects to validate the efficacy of new products, treatments, and management strategies.
  • Author clear, concise, and actionable technical reports, advisory bulletins, and case studies to communicate findings and best practice recommendations to a diverse client base.
  • Develop and deliver engaging training programs, workshops, and presentations to educate growers, farm staff, and industry peers on advanced horticultural topics.
  • Advise clients on the design, optimization, and management of irrigation and fertigation systems to improve water use efficiency and ensure optimal nutrient delivery.
  • Assist clients in navigating the complexities of industry regulations, quality assurance schemes (e.g., GlobalG.A.P.), and environmental compliance standards.
  • Cultivate and maintain strong, long-term client relationships built on trust, responsiveness, and the consistent delivery of high-value, data-driven advice.
  • Interpret complex analytical data from soil, water, and plant tissue laboratory reports, translating scientific information into practical, on-the-ground strategies for growers.
  • Provide strategic guidance on all aspects of greenhouse and protected cropping management, including climate control, lighting, and substrate selection.
  • Support clients in their transition towards organic or more sustainable farming systems, offering expertise on certification processes and approved production inputs.
