Core Responsibilities

Primary Functions

  • Expertly set up, adjust, and operate various hot stamping presses (including Kluge, Saroglia, and Bobst) according to detailed job specifications.
  • Meticulously review work orders, blueprints, and job tickets to determine precise settings for temperature, pressure, dwell time, and foil pull.
  • Skillfully mount, align, and lock dies, fixtures, and foil rolls into the press, ensuring perfect registration and impression quality.
  • Execute first-piece inspections and gain approval before proceeding with the full production run, confirming all specifications are met.
  • Continuously monitor machine operation and the quality of stamped products throughout the production cycle, making real-time adjustments to correct defects like foil voids, peeling, or discoloration.
  • Conduct thorough visual and dimensional quality checks on finished parts, ensuring they meet customer requirements and internal quality benchmarks.
  • Troubleshoot machine malfunctions and production issues efficiently, diagnosing problems with dies, foil, or machine mechanics to minimize downtime.
  • Regulate machine speed and temperature to optimize production output while maintaining the highest quality standards for each unique job.
  • Handle a variety of substrates, including paper, cardboard, plastics, and other materials, understanding how each interacts with the hot stamping process.
  • Perform complex make-readies for jobs involving intricate designs, multiple foil colors, or tight registration requirements.
  • Accurately interpret and apply information from technical drawings and schematics to ensure the final product matches the design intent.
  • Manage the stamping process for both single-pass and multi-pass jobs, maintaining consistent quality and alignment across all stages.

Secondary Functions

  • Perform routine and preventative maintenance on hot stamping equipment, including cleaning, lubrication, and minor repairs, to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
  • Maintain precise and organized production logs, documenting job progress, material usage, scrap rates, and any periods of downtime.
  • Manage and maintain an adequate inventory of essential supplies, such as foils, dies, and cleaning solutions, and communicate replenishment needs.
  • Uphold a clean, safe, and orderly work environment by consistently following 5S principles and other housekeeping standards.
  • Strictly adhere to all company safety protocols and OSHA regulations, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and machine guards.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members, shift supervisors, and the quality assurance department to ensure a smooth and efficient production workflow.
  • Carefully package, label, and stage finished products for the next step in the production process or for shipment.
  • Contribute to process improvement initiatives by identifying and suggesting opportunities to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and improve quality.
  • Assist in the training and mentoring of junior operators or apprentices, sharing knowledge of best practices for machine operation and safety procedures.
  • Operate material handling equipment, such as pallet jacks, to safely transport raw materials and finished goods within the production facility.

  • Hot Stamping Machine Operation: Proven ability to operate manual, semi-automatic, and automatic hot stamping presses.

Experience Requirements
