Core Responsibilities
Primary Functions
- Design, facilitate, and lead dynamic ideation workshops, design sprints, and brainstorming sessions with diverse, cross-functional teams to generate a high volume of novel ideas aligned with strategic business goals.
- Conduct continuous and in-depth market research, competitive analysis, and trend forecasting to identify untapped opportunities, emerging consumer needs, and potential market disruptions.
- Manage the "front end" of the innovation funnel, including the intake, categorization, and initial screening of ideas from various sources across the organization.
- Develop and articulate compelling value propositions for new concepts, clearly defining the target audience, problem-to-be-solved, and unique benefits.
- Create detailed business cases for the most promising ideas, including market sizing, potential revenue models, strategic fit, and initial risk assessment to support leadership decisions.
- Collaborate closely with Product, Engineering, and Marketing teams to ensure a smooth transition of validated concepts into the product development lifecycle.
- Develop low-fidelity prototypes, mockups, and concept storyboards to effectively communicate and test new ideas with internal stakeholders and potential users.
- Plan and execute early-stage validation experiments, such as user interviews, surveys, and A/B tests, to gather qualitative and quantitative feedback on new concepts.
- Synthesize complex information from multiple sources—including market data, user feedback, and technical feasibility—into clear, actionable insights and strategic recommendations.
- Act as a central point of contact and an internal champion for new ideas, building enthusiasm and securing buy-in from stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
- Maintain and cultivate a repository of innovation knowledge, including research findings, session outputs, and a pipeline of incubated ideas for future consideration.
- Present findings, concept overviews, and strategic recommendations to senior leadership and executive committees in a clear, persuasive, and confident manner.
- Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) for the innovation pipeline, such as idea volume, conversion rates, and the projected value of concepts.
- Stay abreast of and evangelize best practices in innovation methodologies, including Design Thinking, Lean Startup, Jobs-to-be-Done, and Open Innovation.
- Build and maintain a network of external partners, industry experts, and academic institutions to bring outside-in perspectives and fresh stimuli to our innovation process.
- Drive the creation of compelling narratives and storytelling around new concepts to articulate the vision and potential impact both internally and externally.
- Assess the feasibility and potential of leveraging new technologies (e.g., AI, IoT, blockchain) within proposed ideas and existing business lines.
