Core Responsibilities

Primary Functions

  • Conduct in-depth, multi-source analysis of electro-optical (EO), infrared (IR), Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR), and Full Motion Video (FMV) imagery to identify, track, and report on objects, activities, and significant events.
  • Exploit still and motion imagery using advanced geospatial software suites (e.g., SOCET GXP, RemoteView, ENVI) to generate precise and timely intelligence products.
  • Produce comprehensive analytical reports, target packages, and visual presentations that adhere to intelligence community directives and standards, effectively communicating complex findings to diverse audiences.
  • Perform detailed pattern-of-life analysis and long-term activity monitoring by exploiting large volumes of imagery data to discern trends and predict future behavior.
  • Collaborate closely with analysts from other intelligence disciplines (e.g., SIGINT, HUMINT, OSINT) to fuse disparate data sources into a holistic, all-source intelligence picture.
  • Utilize Geographic Information Systems (GIS) like ArcGIS to create, update, and manage geospatial datasets, perform spatial analysis, and generate cartographic products for operational support.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive databases on facilities, equipment, and areas of interest, ensuring data integrity and accessibility for the wider analytical community.
  • Provide real-time support to operational missions by analyzing live FMV feeds, providing immediate threat warnings, and communicating critical updates to tactical users.
  • Author formal intelligence assessments and contribute to national-level intelligence studies by providing subject matter expertise on specific targets, regions, or technical subjects.
  • Perform rigorous quality control on all analytical outputs, ensuring accuracy, proper sourcing, and adherence to classification and dissemination protocols.
  • Develop and refine imagery collection requirements, providing expert feedback to collection managers to optimize sensor tasking and fill critical intelligence gaps.
  • Apply advanced analytical techniques, including change detection, 3D modeling, and spectral analysis, to extract subtle yet significant information from complex datasets.
  • Prepare and deliver compelling oral briefings to a range of stakeholders, from tactical operators to senior leadership, translating complex analysis into clear, concise, and actionable intelligence.
  • Conduct precise mensuration of objects and features from imagery to support targeting, mission planning, and other applications requiring high-fidelity measurements.
  • Stay abreast of emerging sensor technologies, analytical software, and adversary capabilities to continuously adapt and improve analytical tradecraft.
  • Mentor and provide on-the-job training to junior analysts, fostering a culture of continuous learning and analytical excellence within the team.
  • Research and analyze the political, military, and cultural context of assigned areas of responsibility to provide deeply informed and relevant intelligence assessments.
  • Leverage scripting languages (e.g., Python) and automation tools to streamline workflows, process large-scale datasets, and enhance analytical efficiency.
  • Support 24/7 watch floor operations as required, responding rapidly to time-sensitive Requests for Information (RFIs) in a high-stakes, dynamic environment.
  • Evaluate and test new AI/ML-driven analytical tools, such as automated object detection algorithms, and provide feedback for integration into operational workflows.
  • Create detailed order-of-battle analyses by identifying military units, equipment, platforms, and force dispositions from imagery.

Secondary Functions

  • Support ad-hoc data requests and exploratory data analysis to answer novel intelligence questions.
  • Contribute to the organization's data strategy and roadmap by identifying future needs and potential technological enhancements.
  • Collaborate with engineering and development teams to translate analytical needs into technical requirements for new tools.

Required Skills & Competencies

Hard Skills (Technical)

  • Deep proficiency with specialized GEOINT exploitation software (e.g., SOCET GXP, RemoteView, ENVI, ERDAS IMAGINE).
  • Expertise in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) software, particularly Esri's ArcGIS Pro and its extensions.
  • Demonstrated experience analyzing multiple imagery modalities, including Electro-Optical (EO), Infrared (IR), Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR), and Multispectral/Hyperspectral data.
  • Proven ability to exploit Full-Motion Video (FMV) from various platforms for real-time analysis and reporting.
  • Strong understanding of remote sensing principles, sensor phenomenology, and imaging system capabilities and limitations.
  • Skill in performing precise photogrammetric mensuration and creating 3D visualizations from imagery.
  • Familiarity with scripting languages for automation and data analysis, such as Python (with libraries like Pandas, GeoPandas) or R.

Educational Background

Minimum Education:
