Core Responsibilities

Primary Functions

  • Design and implement comprehensive Impact Measurement and Management (IMM) frameworks, such as Theories of Change or Logic Models, to map the causal pathways from activities to outcomes.
  • Lead the end-to-end execution of mixed-methods research projects, integrating both quantitative (surveys, statistical analysis) and qualitative (interviews, focus groups, case studies) data collection.
  • Conduct rigorous quantitative analysis using statistical software (e.g., R, Python, Stata) to test hypotheses, identify correlations, and determine the statistical significance of program outcomes.
  • Perform deep qualitative data analysis to uncover nuanced insights, understand stakeholder experiences, and provide rich context to quantitative findings.
  • Develop and validate data collection instruments, including surveys, interview protocols, and observation guides, ensuring they are methodologically sound and culturally appropriate.
  • Manage relationships and data collection efforts with diverse stakeholders, including program beneficiaries, community leaders, field staff, and partner organizations.
  • Author and produce compelling, high-quality impact reports, research briefs, and data visualizations for a variety of audiences, from executive leadership to external funders and the public.
  • Translate complex research findings into clear, actionable recommendations that inform program design, operational improvements, and strategic planning.
  • Conduct thorough literature reviews and landscape analyses to stay at the forefront of impact measurement methodologies, sector trends, and relevant academic research.
  • Perform impact due diligence on potential investments, partnerships, or projects to assess their potential for positive social and environmental returns.
  • Monitor and track key performance indicators (KPIs) and impact metrics against established goals and industry benchmarks, such as the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
  • Collaborate closely with program and product teams to embed impact thinking and data-driven decision-making throughout the entire project lifecycle.
  • Ensure the ethical management of all research activities and data, including participant consent, data privacy, and security protocols.
  • Present research methodologies and findings to internal teams, leadership, and external conferences, effectively communicating the value and credibility of the organization's impact work.
  • Manage and maintain databases and data systems dedicated to impact measurement, ensuring data quality, integrity, and accessibility.

Required Skills & Competencies

Hard Skills (Technical)

  • Quantitative Analysis: Deep expertise in statistical methods and modeling, with proficiency in statistical software packages such as R, Python (Pandas, SciPy), Stata, or SPSS.
  • Qualitative Analysis: Proven ability in qualitative research design and analysis, including conducting in-depth interviews, facilitating focus groups, and using software like NVivo or Dedoose.
  • Impact Measurement Frameworks: Strong working knowledge of established frameworks and standards like Theory of Change, Logic Models, IRIS+, the UN SDGs, and GIIN Impact Principles.
  • Survey Design & Implementation: Skill in designing, testing, and deploying effective surveys using platforms like Qualtrics, SurveyMonkey, or ODK/KoboToolbox.
  • Data Visualization & Reporting: Proficiency in creating clear and compelling dashboards and reports using tools like Tableau, Power BI, or Google Data Studio to communicate complex data.
  • Database Management: Familiarity with managing datasets and databases, including data cleaning, manipulation, and ensuring data integrity, with some knowledge of SQL being a strong asset.

Education & Experience

Educational Background

Minimum Education:

Experience Requirements
