Core Responsibilities

Primary Functions

  • Develop, implement, and refine the organization's overarching impact measurement and management (IMM) strategy, including the creation and maintenance of Theories of Change and Logic Models.
  • Lead the complete lifecycle of impact data, from designing data collection instruments (surveys, interview guides, focus group protocols) to cleaning, managing, and storing data securely.
  • Analyze complex quantitative and qualitative data using statistical methods and qualitative analysis techniques to identify trends, assess program effectiveness, and generate actionable insights.
  • Create and deliver compelling, high-quality impact reports, dashboards, and presentations for diverse audiences, including the executive team, Board of Directors, funders, and the public.
  • Collaborate closely with program and product teams to embed impact measurement and learning into their workflows, ensuring a culture of data-driven decision-making.
  • Manage and oversee the implementation of data collection technologies and platforms, such as survey software (e.g., Qualtrics, SurveyMonkey) and data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
  • Conduct rigorous landscape analyses and literature reviews to stay abreast of the latest research, methodologies, and best practices in the impact measurement and social sectors.
  • Translate complex analytical findings into clear, concise, and actionable recommendations for program improvement, strategic pivots, and operational enhancements.
  • Train and support staff and partners on data collection protocols, ethical data handling, and the use of M&E tools to build organizational capacity and ensure data quality.
  • Manage relationships with external evaluators, consultants, and research partners, overseeing project scopes, timelines, and deliverables for third-party assessments.
  • Contribute critical impact data and narratives to grant proposals, fundraising materials, and investor reports to support resource development and stakeholder engagement.
  • Ensure the integrity, accuracy, and reliability of all impact data through systematic data quality checks and validation procedures.
  • Present impact findings and strategic recommendations at internal and external forums, including all-staff meetings, conferences, and stakeholder convenings.
  • Champion a culture of learning and continuous improvement by facilitating regular reflection sessions with teams to discuss impact data and adapt strategies accordingly.
  • Develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics aligned with global standards like the IRIS+ Catalogue, Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and B Corp standards.
  • Perform advanced statistical analyses, such as regression analysis or quasi-experimental designs, to better understand causality and attribution of program outcomes.
  • Author and contribute to thought leadership pieces, such as white papers, case studies, and blog posts, to share our impact story and learnings with the broader field.
  • Support the due diligence process for new investments or partnerships by evaluating the potential social and environmental impact of prospective initiatives.
  • Design and execute client or beneficiary feedback loops to ensure their voices are central to our impact measurement and program design processes.
  • Synthesize findings from multiple data sources to build a holistic, comprehensive understanding of the organization's overall impact portfolio.

  • Support ad-hoc data requests and exploratory data analysis to answer emerging strategic questions from leadership and other departments.
  • Contribute to the organization's broader data strategy and roadmap, advocating for tools and processes that enhance our analytical capabilities.
  • Collaborate with business units and operations teams to translate data needs into clear requirements for our data engineering and IT teams.
  • Participate in sprint planning, retrospectives, and other agile ceremonies as a key member of cross-functional project teams.

Required Skills & Competencies

Hard Skills (Technical)

  • Impact Measurement Frameworks: Deep expertise in developing and applying Theories of Change, Logic Models, Results Frameworks, and other strategic planning tools.
  • Quantitative & Qualitative Analysis: Proficiency in statistical analysis (descriptive and inferential) and qualitative data analysis (thematic coding, content analysis).
  • Data Analysis Software: Advanced skills in at least one statistical package (e.g., R, Stata, SPSS) or programming language (e.g., Python with pandas/NumPy).
  • Data Visualization & BI Tools: Demonstrated ability to create compelling dashboards and reports using tools like Tableau, Power BI, or Google Data Studio.
  • Survey & Data Collection Tools: Experience designing and deploying surveys using platforms such as Qualtrics, SurveyMonkey, KoboToolbox, or similar.
  • Database Management: Working knowledge of SQL for querying relational databases and managing large datasets.

Education & Experience

Educational Background

Minimum Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field.

Relevant Fields of Study:

  • International Development, Public Policy, Economics, Sociology, Statistics, or a related social science.
  • Data Science, Business Analytics, or a related quantitative field.

Experience Requirements

Typical Experience Range:

  • 3-7 years of professional experience in a monitoring and evaluation, data analysis, or research role, preferably within a non-profit, foundation, or social enterprise setting.

Preferred:

  • Direct experience designing and leading impact evaluations from start to finish.
  • Experience working with globally recognized impact standards and reporting frameworks (e.g., GIIN IRIS+, SDGs, GRI).
  • Proven track record of successfully influencing organizational strategy and program design through data-driven insights.
