Core Responsibilities
Primary Functions
- Execute daily cultivation tasks including seeding, transplanting, irrigation, and harvesting according to precise schedules and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Conduct comprehensive daily crop health assessments, meticulously scouting for early signs of pests, diseases, or nutritional deficiencies.
- Monitor, manage, and adjust environmental control systems (HVAC, lighting, CO2 levels, humidity) to maintain optimal growing conditions for specific crops.
- Operate and maintain advanced hydroponic, aeroponic, or aquaponic systems, ensuring all pumps, dosers, and irrigation lines are functioning correctly.
- Prepare and manage complex nutrient solution recipes, performing regular water quality tests for pH, EC (Electrical Conductivity), and temperature.
- Implement Integrated Pest Management (IPM) strategies, including the proper application of biological controls and other non-synthetic solutions.
- Meticulously collect and record data on plant growth metrics, environmental conditions, resource consumption, and harvest yields using farm management software.
- Perform routine calibration and maintenance on a wide range of environmental sensors and farm equipment to ensure data accuracy and operational uptime.
- Manage the complete harvesting and post-harvesting process, including trimming, weighing, grading, and packaging of produce while adhering to quality standards.
- Uphold stringent biosecurity and food safety protocols (such as Good Agricultural Practices - GAP) throughout all cultivation and processing areas.
- Troubleshoot plant health issues and system malfunctions in real-time, diagnosing problems and implementing corrective actions to minimize crop impact.
- Maintain a clean, sterile, and organized work environment, including the regular sanitization of grow systems, tools, and production zones.
- Operate and work safely with farm machinery, which may include vertical lifts, pallet jacks, and automated seeding or harvesting equipment.
Secondary Functions
- Assist the Head Grower or R&D team with trials on new crop varieties, nutrient recipes, lighting spectrums, or growing techniques.
- Contribute to the development, review, and continuous improvement of farm-wide Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Manage inventory levels for essential consumables, including seeds, growing media, nutrients, and pest control agents, and communicate restocking needs.
- Support the training and onboarding of new farm technicians, providing guidance on best practices for cultivation and safety.
- Analyze crop production data to help identify trends, pinpoint inefficiencies, and suggest opportunities for process optimization and yield improvement.
- Participate in team meetings to discuss production goals, challenges, and weekly planning with the broader farm operations team.
- Ensure all cultivation and system maintenance activities are thoroughly documented in digital logs or farm management platforms for traceability and analysis.
Required Skills & Competencies

- Horticulture & Plant Science: Deep understanding of plant physiology, propagation, nutrition, and health diagnostics.
- Controlled Environment Agriculture (CEA) Systems: Proficiency in operating and maintaining hydroponic, aeroponic, or other soilless cultivation systems.
