Core Responsibilities

Primary Functions

  • Analyze complex production and operational data to identify trends, inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and opportunities for process improvement.
  • Develop, track, and maintain key performance indicators (KPIs) and operational metrics, including Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), cycle time, yield, and scrap rates.
  • Create and deliver detailed reports, data visualizations, and presentations for senior management that translate complex findings into actionable business insights.
  • Conduct in-depth cost analysis of production processes, raw materials, labor, and overhead to support strategic cost-reduction and profitability initiatives.
  • Perform root cause analysis on production failures, quality deviations, and safety incidents, collaborating with engineering and quality teams to implement robust corrective actions.
  • Design and build interactive dashboards and business intelligence tools (using platforms like Tableau or Power BI) for operational stakeholders to enable self-service analytics.
  • Lead and participate in continuous improvement projects, applying methodologies like Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma to drive operational excellence.
  • Develop and validate forecasting models for production volume, resource planning, material consumption, and inventory levels.
  • Utilize Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) to extract, cleanse, and manipulate large datasets related to production, inventory, and sales orders.
  • Model and simulate proposed changes to production lines, facility layouts, or supply chain networks to assess potential impacts on cost, capacity, and efficiency.
  • Partner with the finance department to align operational metrics with financial performance, support budgeting and forecasting processes, and build business cases for capital expenditures.
  • Gather, interpret, and report on external data, including industry benchmarks, competitor performance, and market trends, to inform strategic decision-making.
  • Conduct time and motion studies to establish accurate labor standards, optimize workflows, and identify opportunities for ergonomic improvements.
  • Support the New Product Introduction (NPI) process by analyzing manufacturing feasibility, estimating production costs, and defining operational requirements.
  • Analyze utility consumption, waste streams, and environmental data to identify opportunities for sustainability improvements and associated cost savings.
  • Evaluate the ROI of new technologies, automation solutions, and software systems to enhance productivity, quality, and data-gathering capabilities.

Secondary Functions

  • Support ad-hoc data requests and exploratory data analysis from various business units, including operations, finance, and sales.
  • Contribute to the organization's long-term data strategy and the development of its analytics roadmap.
  • Collaborate with IT and data engineering teams to translate business needs into technical requirements for data warehousing and ETL processes.
  • Participate in sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and other agile ceremonies as part of a cross-functional analytics team.
  • Standardize data collection procedures and reporting formats across different plants or departments to ensure data consistency and integrity.
  • Monitor and analyze the performance of key suppliers, evaluating quality, on-time delivery, and cost metrics to support vendor management.
  • Develop and document standard operating procedures (SOPs) for new or revised analytical processes and data reporting.
  • Provide training and support to end-users on new analytical tools, dashboards, and reports to foster a data-driven culture.

Required Skills & Competencies

Hard Skills (Technical)

  • Data Analysis & Querying: Advanced proficiency in SQL for extracting and manipulating data from relational databases.
  • Business Intelligence & Visualization: Expertise in creating dashboards and reports using tools like Tableau, Power BI, or Qlik.
  • Advanced Spreadsheet Skills: Mastery of Microsoft Excel, including Power Query, Power Pivot, VBA macros, and complex formula creation.
  • ERP Systems: Hands-on experience with major ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle NetSuite, or Microsoft Dynamics 365.
  • Statistical Analysis: Knowledge of statistical methods and experience with software like R, Python (Pandas, NumPy), or Minitab for data analysis.

Education & Experience

Educational Background
