Core Responsibilities

Primary Functions

  • Direct and coordinate the daily activities of production and assembly workers, assigning tasks and setting clear performance expectations to meet aggressive production targets.
  • Interpret complex blueprints, schematics, work orders, and production schedules to determine job requirements, material needs, and optimal workflow for the production floor.
  • Champion and rigorously enforce all company safety policies and OSHA regulations, conducting regular safety audits, risk assessments, and toolbox talks to cultivate a culture of safety.
  • Continuously monitor production output, quality control metrics, and operational efficiency, making real-time adjustments to personnel allocation and processes to resolve bottlenecks.

  • Perform first-level inspection of materials, in-process products, and finished goods to detect defects or malfunctions, ensuring all output meets stringent quality standards.
  • Collaborate closely with the maintenance department to schedule and oversee preventative maintenance and urgent repairs on machinery, with a goal of minimizing downtime and maximizing equipment uptime.
  • Manage and approve employee timekeeping, attendance records, and overtime allocation, ensuring accurate payroll processing and fair application of labor policies.
  • Mediate and resolve employee conflicts, grievances, and interpersonal issues with professionalism and timeliness, escalating complex situations to HR or upper management as appropriate.
  • Prepare and submit detailed daily or shift-end reports on production volume, scrap rates, quality metrics, personnel issues, and safety incidents to plant management.
  • Lead and actively participate in continuous improvement initiatives, such as 5S, Kaizen events, and Lean Manufacturing projects, to identify and eliminate waste in the production process.
  • Maintain accurate inventory counts of raw materials, work-in-progress (WIP), and essential supplies, coordinating with the supply chain team to prevent stockouts and production delays.
  • Ensure the proper and safe setup, calibration, and changeover of machinery and equipment at the beginning of each shift or new production run.
  • Facilitate seamless and effective communication between shifts, guaranteeing a smooth transition of work and a clear handoff of ongoing priorities, issues, and equipment status.
  • Conduct formal performance evaluations and informal check-ins with team members, identifying skill gaps, training needs, and opportunities for career development within the company.
  • Lead the initial investigation and documentation of all workplace accidents, injuries, and near-misses, helping to determine root causes and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Uphold and enforce exceptional housekeeping standards throughout the production area to maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment that promotes efficiency.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact and coordinator with other departments such as Quality Assurance, Engineering, and Logistics to resolve production-related challenges.

Experience Requirements
