Core Responsibilities
Primary Functions
- Skillfully set up, operate, and continuously monitor a variety of industrial machines and production equipment to ensure smooth and efficient operations, making real-time adjustments to controls as needed.
- Conduct thorough and routine quality control inspections on raw materials, in-process components, and finished goods to guarantee they meet stringent company and client specifications.
- Diligently follow detailed work orders, technical blueprints, and dynamic production schedules to accurately manufacture products according to the required sequence, dimensions, and quality standards.
- Safely handle and transport raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished products throughout the facility using forklifts, pallet jacks, overhead cranes, or other material handling equipment.
- Perform foundational preventative maintenance on machinery, which includes cleaning, lubricating, and executing minor adjustments to proactively prevent breakdowns and extend the life of the equipment.
- Proactively identify and troubleshoot operational issues, equipment malfunctions, and process deviations, applying critical thinking to resolve minor problems and escalating complex issues to maintenance or supervisory staff.
- Maintain an impeccably clean, organized, and safe work area by rigorously adhering to 5S principles (Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain) and other company-wide housekeeping standards.
- Accurately and consistently complete production logs, quality assurance reports, downtime records, and other essential documentation to meticulously track output, performance, and material consumption.
- Adhere uncompromisingly to all corporate and governmental health and safety regulations, including the consistent use of appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and strict execution of Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures.
- Collaborate effectively and professionally with team members, shift supervisors, quality assurance personnel, and maintenance staff to optimize workflow, solve production challenges, and foster a positive work environment.
- Load and unload materials onto production lines, either manually or with the aid of lifting devices, to ensure a steady and uninterrupted supply for continuous manufacturing operations.
- Monitor machine output and key performance indicators (KPIs), carefully observing for any significant variances or inefficiencies and reporting them promptly to the shift lead for corrective action.
- Actively assist in the comprehensive training and onboarding of new operators by patiently demonstrating proper machine operation, safety protocols, and quality standards.
- Participate enthusiastically in continuous improvement (Kaizen) events and initiatives, offering practical suggestions to enhance safety, quality, cost-effectiveness, and overall productivity.
- Manage the inventory of essential supplies and materials at your designated workstation, proactively notifying supervisors when stock levels are low to prevent costly production interruptions.
- Execute complex equipment changeovers and precise set-ups for different product runs, ensuring all mechanical and digital components are correctly configured for the upcoming job.
- Utilize modern computerized systems and Human-Machine Interface (HMI) panels to control equipment settings, monitor critical process variables, and access production data.
- Properly segregate and dispose of scrap, waste materials, and recyclables in strict accordance with the company's environmental policies and sustainability goals.
- Conduct precise visual and dimensional checks using a variety of measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges to verify product conformity and quality.
- Respond with urgency to system alarms and alerts, taking immediate and appropriate action to diagnose the cause, rectify the situation, and minimize operational downtime.
- Ensure that all finished products are correctly labeled, packaged according to specifications, and properly staged for shipment or transfer to the next stage in the production process.
Secondary Functions
- Support the maintenance team by assisting during major repairs, equipment overhauls, or new machinery installations.
- Participate in periodic physical inventory counts and contribute to data reconciliation activities within the department.
- Contribute to safety committee meetings, actively participating in workplace hazard assessments and safety audits.
- Assist engineering or R&D teams in piloting new production methods, testing new materials, or running trial batches.
Required Skills & Competencies
Hard Skills (Technical)
