Core Responsibilities

Primary Functions

Conducts systematic, routine surveillance for healthcare-associated infections (HAIs) by reviewing patient charts, microbiology reports, and other clinical data sources.
Accurately enters surveillance data, patient demographics, and laboratory results into the infection control database system (e.g., NHSN) in a timely manner.
Performs direct observation audits of hand hygiene compliance among healthcare personnel and provides real-time feedback and coaching.
