Core Responsibilities

Primary Functions

  • Cultivate and nurture long-term, meaningful relationships with clients by maintaining a detailed client book, tracking preferences, and anticipating needs for special occasions and milestones.
  • Achieve and exceed individual and team sales targets by proactively developing new client relationships and strengthening existing ones through personalized outreach and follow-up.
  • Serve as a brand historian and product expert, eloquently communicating the inspiration, craftsmanship, and unique characteristics of each jewelry piece and collection.
  • Provide an unparalleled luxury client experience from initial greeting to post-purchase services, ensuring every interaction is warm, personalized, and memorable.
  • Master an in-depth knowledge of diamonds and colored gemstones, confidently explaining the 4Cs (Cut, Color, Clarity, Carat) and other gemological characteristics to clients.
  • Guide clients through the entire sales process, from discovery and selection to closing the sale and processing the transaction accurately on the POS system.
  • Manage the full spectrum of after-sales service, including coordinating repairs, sizings, and professional cleanings, while keeping clients informed throughout the process.
  • Proactively engage in clienteling activities, including personalized phone calls, emails, and handwritten notes to inform clients of new arrivals, exclusive events, and relevant collection launches.
  • Act as a key liaison for special orders and custom design requests, working closely with designers and workshops to bring a client's unique vision to life.
  • Maintain the visual integrity of the boutique by assisting with visual merchandising, ensuring displays are immaculate, well-stocked, and compliant with brand directives.
  • Handle and present high-value merchandise with the utmost care, confidence, and respect, adhering to all security protocols and handling procedures.
  • Participate in and support the execution of in-store events, trunk shows, and private client viewings, acting as a gracious host and brand representative.
  • Meticulously manage personal inventory and contribute to store-wide inventory management, including regular cycle counts and annual audits.
  • Stay current with industry trends, competitor activities, and the broader luxury market to provide relevant insights and maintain a competitive edge.
  • Resolve client issues and concerns with empathy and efficiency, escalating complex situations to management when necessary while maintaining a positive client relationship.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members to create a cohesive, supportive, and high-performing sales environment, sharing best practices and client insights.
  • Uphold all operational policies and procedures, including those related to security, cash handling, and inventory control, to protect the company's assets.
  • Develop a strong referral network by consistently delivering exceptional service that encourages clients to recommend the brand and your services to their personal and professional networks.
  • Assist in the training and mentoring of new team members, sharing product knowledge and sales techniques to foster a culture of excellence.
  • Continuously develop professional skills and product knowledge through brand-provided training, self-study, and pursuing relevant certifications (e.g., GIA).
  • Expertly manage a portfolio of high-net-worth individuals, understanding their lifestyle and purchasing habits to provide a highly tailored and discreet service.
  • Partner with clients on building their personal jewelry collections over time, offering strategic advice on acquiring key pieces and investment-worthy items.

Secondary Functions

  • Assist with the daily opening and closing procedures of the boutique, ensuring readiness for business operations.
  • Contribute to maintaining the cleanliness and organization of all areas of the store, including sales floor and back-of-house.
  • Support visual merchandising directives by helping to implement new displays and refresh existing ones to reflect marketing campaigns.
  • Participate in team meetings by sharing client feedback, market observations, and ideas for improving the client experience.
