Core Responsibilities

Primary Functions

  • Conduct comprehensive intake assessments with job seekers to evaluate their work history, education, skills, interests, and potential barriers to employment.
  • Develop individualized employment plans (IEPs) that outline clear, actionable steps for each client to achieve their career goals.
  • Provide intensive, one-on-one career coaching, offering expert guidance on resume and cover letter customization, job search strategies, and effective networking techniques.
  • Deliver dynamic workshops and group training sessions on essential job readiness topics, such as interview skills, workplace professionalism, digital literacy, and financial planning.
  • Proactively identify and cultivate strong, lasting relationships with a diverse network of local and regional employers to create a robust pipeline of job openings.
  • Act as a liaison between candidates and employers, advocating for clients by highlighting their strengths and suitability for specific roles.
  • Meticulously screen and match qualified candidates to employer job orders, ensuring alignment of skills, experience, and cultural fit.
  • Coordinate interviews for clients, providing pre-interview preparation and post-interview debriefing to gather feedback and refine strategies.
  • Assist clients in navigating the job offer and negotiation process to secure competitive and appropriate compensation packages.
  • Maintain detailed, accurate, and confidential case notes on all client interactions, progress, and outcomes within a CRM or case management system.
  • Diligently track key performance indicators (KPIs), including client engagement, job interviews, placements, and retention rates.
  • Provide post-placement support and follow-up with both the employee and employer for a set period (e.g., 90-180 days) to ensure job retention and address any workplace issues.
  • Stay abreast of current labor market trends, in-demand industries, and regional economic data to provide relevant and timely advice to job seekers.
  • Develop a deep understanding of employer needs and industry-specific requirements to better prepare and refer candidates.
  • Actively source new clients and employer partners through targeted outreach, community engagement, and attending networking events.
  • Build and maintain a comprehensive resource library for clients, including information on transportation, childcare, professional attire, and other support services.
  • Conduct mock interviews with constructive, detailed feedback to help clients build confidence and improve their performance.
  • Guide clients on creating and optimizing their professional online presence, particularly on platforms like LinkedIn.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, such as trainers or social workers, to provide holistic, wraparound support for clients.
  • Ensure all program activities and documentation comply with organizational policies, funder requirements, and relevant legal standards.

Secondary Functions

  • Represent the organization at community events, job fairs, and professional conferences to promote services and build strategic partnerships.
  • Contribute to the creation and distribution of marketing materials, including success stories, newsletters, and social media content, to attract new clients and employers.
  • Compile and analyze placement data to generate monthly and quarterly reports on program performance, highlighting successes and areas for improvement.
  • Participate in regular team meetings and case conferences to share best practices, discuss challenging cases, and foster a collaborative environment.
