Core Responsibilities
Primary Functions
- Perform complex diagnostic procedures on vehicles or equipment to accurately identify malfunctions and determine the required course of action, utilizing advanced diagnostic software, scan tools, and multimeters.
- Execute a full range of repairs on major vehicle systems, including engines, transmissions, drivetrains, differentials, and electronic control modules.
- Conduct comprehensive vehicle inspections and preventative maintenance services, such as oil changes, fluid flushes, tire rotations, and multi-point inspections, according to manufacturer specifications.
- Diagnose and repair intricate electrical system issues, including wiring harnesses, sensors, lighting systems, and computer-controlled components.
- Service and overhaul brake systems, including hydraulic, air brake, and anti-lock braking systems (ABS), ensuring optimal performance and safety.
- Address and repair issues within steering and suspension systems, performing alignments and replacing components like shocks, struts, and ball joints.
- Service and repair heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems, including refrigerant recovery, recharging, and component replacement.
- Accurately document all diagnostic findings, services performed, and parts used on repair orders, maintaining meticulous records for customer history and billing.
- Interpret and apply technical information from service manuals, wiring diagrams, and online technical bulletins to guide repair processes.
- Road test vehicles before and after service to verify customer complaints and confirm that all repairs have been completed successfully.
- Maintain a high level of productivity and efficiency while ensuring all work meets or exceeds dealership, fleet, and manufacturer quality standards.
