Core Responsibilities

Primary Functions

  • Provide direct supervision, mentorship, and performance management for a team of judicial assistants and court clerks, ensuring adherence to court policies and procedural standards.
  • Develop, implement, and refine standardized office procedures and workflows to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of case processing from initiation to final disposition.

  • Ensure strict compliance with all local, state, and federal court rules, policies, and legal statutes governing court administration, records management, and public access.
  • Manage the entire jury administration process, including the summoning and qualification of jurors, handling juror inquiries, and ensuring a smooth, supportive process during trials.
  • Conduct regular, systematic audits of case files and electronic data to verify accuracy, completeness, and adherence to established data entry and quality control protocols.
  • Skillfully resolve complex and sensitive issues or conflicts that arise among staff, or between the court and the public, litigants, or legal professionals.
  • Coordinate effectively with other court departments, law enforcement agencies, and external government entities to ensure seamless information flow and inter-agency cooperation.
  • Assist in the preparation and management of the departmental budget, including monitoring expenditures, justifying resource requests, and forecasting future operational needs.
  • Lead the implementation of new technologies and case management systems, providing comprehensive training and ongoing support to staff to ensure successful adoption and utilization.
  • Prepare detailed statistical reports on case filings, dispositions, pending caseloads, and other key performance indicators for court administration leadership and judges.
  • Handle the intake and processing of fees, fines, and other court-ordered payments, ensuring proper accounting, reconciliation, and deposit procedures are followed.
  • Mediate and resolve escalated customer service complaints from the public, attorneys, or litigants with a high degree of professionalism, empathy, and tact.
  • Develop and deliver ongoing training programs for staff on procedural updates, new legislation, technology enhancements, and best practices in court administration.
  • Review and approve complex legal documents for procedural correctness and completeness before they are filed or submitted for judicial review.
  • Manage the court's evidence and exhibit repository, overseeing the proper logging, secure storage, and legally-compliant disposition of physical and digital evidence.
