As a Juice Plant Worker, you are a crucial member of our production floor, responsible for the day-to-day manufacturing of our juice products. You will operate and monitor various pieces of equipment along the production line, ensuring efficiency, quality, and safety at every stage. This role involves everything from batching and mixing raw ingredients to bottling, packaging, and preparing finished goods for shipment. Core Responsibilities

Primary Functions

  • Operate, monitor, and adjust high-speed production and packaging equipment, including blenders, pasteurizers, fillers, cappers, labelers, and case packers, to ensure optimal performance.
  • Execute precise batching and mixing of juice ingredients according to detailed formulations and production schedules, ensuring product consistency and quality.
  • Perform rigorous Clean-in-Place (CIP) and Clean-out-of-Place (COP) sanitation procedures on all machinery, tanks, and pipelines to maintain a sterile, food-safe environment.
  • Conduct routine quality control checks on raw materials, in-process batches, and finished products, measuring parameters such as temperature, Brix, pH, and acidity.
  • Accurately document all production and quality data on batch records, logs, and digital systems in compliance with regulatory and company standards.
  • Safely handle and transfer raw materials, ingredients, and packaging supplies from a warehouse to the production line, often utilizing pallet jacks or forklifts.
  • Monitor the entire production line for any operational deviations, equipment malfunctions, or quality issues, and report them immediately to the line lead or supervisor.
  • Adhere strictly to all plant safety regulations, including Lock-Out/Tag-Out (LOTO) procedures, proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), and safe chemical handling.
  • Perform visual inspections of finished goods for proper fill levels, cap seals, label placement, and date codes to prevent defects from reaching the market.
  • Efficiently pack finished bottles into cases and stack cases onto pallets according to specified patterns, preparing them for warehousing and shipment.
  • Disassemble, clean, and reassemble production equipment for product changeovers, maintenance, or daily sanitation cycles, demonstrating mechanical aptitude.
  • Manage waste and recyclable materials generated during the production process, ensuring proper disposal and maintaining a clean and organized workspace.
  • Monitor and control processing steps through a Human-Machine Interface (HMI) or control panels, making real-time adjustments as needed.
  • Assist the maintenance team with basic preventative maintenance tasks and provide detailed information to help troubleshoot equipment failures.
  • Uphold and champion Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), HACCP principles, and all food safety policies to ensure the integrity and safety of the product.
  • Rotate through various workstations and roles within the plant to support production needs and develop a comprehensive skill set.
  • Calibrate and maintain testing equipment, such as pH meters and refractometers, to ensure accurate quality control readings.
  • Complete all required pre-operational inspections and setup verification checklists before starting a production run.
  • Operate pallet wrapping machines to secure finished pallets for safe transport and storage.
  • Communicate effectively with team members during shift changes to ensure a smooth transition and relay critical operational information.

  • Assist in monthly and cycle-based inventory counts and support data entry for production tracking systems.
  • Participate in continuous improvement projects and Kaizen events by providing valuable feedback on process efficiencies, waste reduction, and safety enhancements.
  • Collaborate with Quality Assurance and Maintenance departments to report, diagnose, and resolve production line issues in a timely manner.
  • Engage in daily team huddles and shift hand-off meetings to ensure clear communication, alignment on production goals, and operational continuity.

Required Skills & Competencies

Hard Skills (Technical)

  • Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP): Deep understanding and practical application of GMP in a food-grade facility.
  • Machine Operation: Experience operating and monitoring industrial production equipment (e.g., fillers, labelers, pasteurizers).
  • Sanitation Procedures (CIP/COP): Knowledge of and ability to execute Clean-in-Place and Clean-out-of-Place protocols.
  • Quality Control Testing: Ability to use lab equipment (pH meter, refractometer) to perform basic quality checks.
  • Forklift/Pallet Jack Operation: Certified or able to be certified to operate material handling equipment safely.
  • Basic Mechanical Aptitude: Ability to perform minor equipment adjustments, troubleshooting, and assist with maintenance.

Education & Experience

Educational Background

Minimum Education:

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.

  • Vocational certificate or Associate's degree in a technical field.

Experience Requirements

Typical Experience Range:

  • 0-2 years of experience in a manufacturing, food production, or related environment.

Preferred:

  • 1+ years of direct experience in a beverage bottling, food processing, or dairy plant is highly desirable. Experience in a GMP-regulated environment is a significant asset.
