Core Responsibilities

Primary Functions

  • Proactively engage with guests to provide assistance in operating the jukebox, from selecting songs to understanding payment or credit systems.
  • Perform daily preventative maintenance checks, including cleaning glass, polishing chrome, and ensuring the overall pristine appearance of the machine.
  • Conduct routine technical inspections of mechanical components, such as the record-gripping arm, turntable, and selection buttons, to identify wear and tear.
  • Manage and curate the music library, which may involve rotating 45-rpm vinyl records or updating digital playlists to align with the venue's theme and guest preferences.
  • Monitor and adjust audio volume and quality throughout the day to ensure it complements the venue's changing atmosphere and occupancy levels.
  • Execute basic troubleshooting and on-the-spot repairs for common issues like coin jams, faulty buttons, record skips, or digital display errors.
  • Courteously answer guest questions about the music selection, artists, and the history of the jukebox itself to enhance their overall experience.
  • Maintain a detailed logbook of all maintenance activities, technical issues, guest feedback, and repairs performed for future reference.
  • Oversee the collection of money from the machine, ensuring accurate counting, reconciliation, and secure handling of all cash or tokens.
  • Ensure the physical area surrounding the jukebox remains clear, safe, and accessible to all guests, addressing any hazards immediately.
  • Replace burnt-out display bulbs, neon tubes, or other lighting elements to maintain the jukebox's intended visual aesthetic.
  • Act as the first point of contact for any jukebox-related inquiries or complaints, resolving issues with patience and a customer-first mindset.

Secondary Functions

  • Collaborate with management or the marketing team to develop and program special playlists for themed nights, private parties, or promotional events.
  • Report recurring technical failures or the need for major repairs to senior technicians or designated external service vendors in a timely manner.
  • Assist in training new team members on the basic functions of the jukebox and the standard procedures for assisting guests.
  • Monitor the condition of the physical media (vinyl records), cleaning them as needed and recommending replacements for worn or damaged items.
  • Provide feedback to management on popular song trends and guest requests to inform future music library acquisitions.
  • Manage and restock any instructional signage or promotional materials placed near the jukebox.
  • Immediately report any instances of vandalism, abuse of the machine, or significant damage to venue security or management.
  • Support fellow team members in general guest service or operational duties during periods of low jukebox activity.

Educational Background

Minimum Education:

Experience Requirements

Typical Experience Range: 1-3 years of experience in a customer-facing or technical support role.
