Core Responsibilities

Primary Functions

  • Travel to customer locations to install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain digital and video jukeboxes and associated audio/video equipment.
  • Perform comprehensive diagnostics on malfunctioning equipment to identify hardware, software, or network-related issues.
  • Execute component-level repairs on-site, including replacing motherboards, touchscreens, power supplies, bill validators, and speakers.
  • Install and configure new jukebox systems, ensuring proper network connectivity and integration with existing venue audio systems.
  • Conduct routine preventative maintenance to ensure optimal performance and longevity of the equipment fleet.
  • Manage a designated service route efficiently, prioritizing service calls to meet response time targets and minimize equipment downtime.
  • Complete detailed digital service reports for each visit, documenting issues, actions taken, and parts used.
  • Escalate complex or unresolved technical issues to senior technicians or a central support team for further assistance.
  • Run and terminate low-voltage wiring, including CAT5/6, speaker wire, and other AV cabling, in a clean and professional manner.
  • Calibrate audio levels and EQ settings to optimize sound quality for each unique venue environment.
  • Read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and wiring diagrams to facilitate effective repairs.

Secondary Functions

  • Maintain an accurate inventory of parts and equipment in a company-provided service vehicle.
  • Provide clear and professional training to venue staff on the basic operation and simple troubleshooting of the jukebox.
  • Handle cash and coin collections from machines, ensuring all funds are accounted for accurately and securely.
  • Utilize remote management software to diagnose problems, push software updates, and manage music libraries.
  • Build and maintain strong, positive relationships with location owners and managers, acting as a trusted technical partner.
  • Assist in the refurbishment and testing of jukeboxes and related components at the main workshop or office.
  • Keep the company service vehicle clean, organized, and properly maintained.
  • Stay current with new product features, software updates, and repair techniques through ongoing training.
  • Occasionally install and service other amusement equipment, such as arcade games, photo booths, or digital dartboards.
  • Coordinate with sales and operations teams to ensure smooth new customer installations and location transitions.

Required Skills & Competencies

Hard Skills (Technical)

  • Strong electronics troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
  • Component-level repair and replacement (e.g., motherboards, power supplies).
  • Knowledge of computer hardware, software, and operating systems (Windows/Linux).
  • Understanding of IP networking principles (TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS) and Wi-Fi configuration.
  • Proficiency in low-voltage wiring and cabling installation.
  • Experience with audio system setup, including amplifiers, speakers, and mixers.
  • Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and electronic test equipment like multimeters.
  • Soldering and de-soldering skills are a strong plus.
  • Familiarity with remote access and diagnostic software.
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics and technical documents.

Education & Experience

Educational Background

Minimum Education:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent (GED).
  • Valid Driver's License with a clean driving record.

Experience Requirements

Typical Experience Range:

  • 1-3 years in a field service, electronics repair, or AV installation role.

Preferred:

  • Direct experience servicing digital jukeboxes (e.g., TouchTunes, AMI), arcade games, or other coin-operated amusement devices is highly desirable. Experience managing a service route and parts inventory is a significant asset.
