Core Responsibilities

Primary Functions

  • Perform comprehensive diagnostics on a diverse fleet of electric bikes and scooters to accurately identify mechanical, electrical, and software-related issues.
  • Execute a wide range of repairs, from simple component swaps like tires and brake pads to complex electrical troubleshooting of wiring harnesses, controllers, and motors.
  • Conduct routine preventative maintenance checks based on established schedules and protocols to maximize vehicle uptime and rider safety.
  • Meticulously assemble and quality-check new vehicles as they are introduced to the fleet, ensuring they meet all safety and operational standards before deployment.
  • Utilize proprietary diagnostic software and mobile applications to log repairs, track component usage, and update vehicle status in the fleet management system.
  • Manage and maintain a detailed inventory of spare parts and tools, proactively reporting on supply levels to prevent work stoppages.
  • Refurbish and restore damaged vehicles to a like-new condition, involving both cosmetic and functional repairs to extend the asset's lifecycle.
  • Adhere strictly to safety protocols, especially when handling lithium-ion batteries, including charging, storage, and disposal procedures.
  • Systematically test and evaluate the performance of repaired vehicles to confirm that all issues have been resolved and the vehicle is safe for public use.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve connectivity and GPS-related issues on vehicles to ensure they can be located, unlocked, and tracked accurately.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workshop environment in compliance with company and OSHA standards.
  • Collaborate with field operations teams to prioritize repairs based on real-time fleet needs and vehicle deployment targets.
  • Document repair processes and provide detailed feedback on recurring or common failures to assist the engineering team in product improvement.
  • Perform firmware updates and software configurations on vehicles as directed by the engineering and product teams.
  • Evaluate and process vehicles that have reached the end of their service life, salvaging usable parts and preparing the remainder for responsible disposal or recycling.
  • Respond to and resolve escalated, complex technical issues that other team members are unable to diagnose or repair.
  • Conduct thorough quality assurance inspections on vehicles repaired by other technicians to ensure they meet our high standards.
  • Participate in the development and refinement of standard operating procedures (SOPs) for maintenance and repair tasks.

Secondary Functions

  • Assist in the training and mentoring of new or junior technicians, sharing best practices for diagnostics and repair techniques.
  • Test and provide feedback on new tools, repair procedures, and software features designed to improve workshop efficiency.

Required Skills & Competencies

Hard Skills (Technical)

  • Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing mechanical systems (e.g., hydraulic/mechanical brakes, drivetrains, frames).
  • Strong understanding of basic DC electrical systems, including confident troubleshooting with a multimeter.
  • Proven experience using a wide variety of manual and power tools in a professional mechanical or technical environment.
  • Ability to proficiently use proprietary software and mobile applications for diagnostics, inventory, and work order management.
  • Deep knowledge of lithium-ion battery safety, handling, charging, and testing procedures.
  • Experience with parts inventory management and tracking systems to maintain optimal stock levels.
  • Familiarity with assembling and disassembling complex electro-mechanical products with precision.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
