Core Responsibilities
Primary Functions
- Conduct in-depth, consultative client interviews to accurately assess their lifestyle, functional needs, aesthetic preferences, and budget for their kitchen renovation.
- Create innovative, functional, and aesthetically pleasing kitchen designs and layouts using specialized software like 2020 Design, AutoCAD, or similar CAD programs.
- Guide clients through the entire material selection process, providing expert advice on cabinetry, countertops, appliances, hardware, lighting, flooring, and finishes.
- Develop comprehensive project proposals, including detailed scopes of work, photorealistic renderings, and precise cost estimates for client review and approval.
- Manage the full sales cycle, from lead qualification and initial consultation to closing the sale, securing contracts, and processing orders.
- Act as the central point of contact for the client throughout the project, providing consistent communication, managing expectations, and ensuring a superior customer experience.
- Perform precise on-site measurements and site assessments to ensure the accuracy of design plans and identify any potential structural or installation challenges.
- Collaborate effectively with internal teams, architects, contractors, and installers to ensure seamless project execution and strict adherence to design specifications.
- Generate accurate and detailed technical drawings, elevations, and installation plans for construction and installation teams.
- Stay at the forefront of the kitchen and bath industry by continuously researching emerging design trends, new materials, and innovative technologies.
- Resolve any client issues, project hurdles, or design challenges promptly and professionally to maintain project momentum and high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Prepare and deliver compelling design presentations, utilizing mood boards and material samples to effectively communicate the design vision to clients.
- Manage project timelines and coordinate the ordering and delivery schedules of all materials and products to align with the installation plan.
- Perform final project walk-throughs with clients and contractors to ensure project completion to the client's total satisfaction and create a punch list for any outstanding items.
Secondary Functions
- Maintain the design showroom, ensuring displays are current, samples are organized, and the environment is welcoming and inspiring for clients.
- Foster and maintain strong relationships with vendors and suppliers to negotiate favorable pricing and stay informed about new product lines and lead times.
- Actively participate in industry networking events and build relationships with trade professionals (realtors, builders) to generate new business opportunities.
- Provide post-installation support and follow-up with clients to ensure long-term satisfaction and actively encourage referrals and positive reviews.
