Core Responsibilities

Primary Functions

  • Carefully load and unload cabinetry, countertops, and all related materials from transport vehicles, ensuring no damage occurs during handling.
  • Accurately interpret and work from detailed blueprints, architectural drawings, and shop plans to ensure the installation matches the approved design specifications.
  • Prepare the installation site by taking precise measurements, verifying dimensions, and ensuring walls and floors are level and plumb for a perfect fit.
  • Expertly install base and wall cabinets, ensuring they are securely fastened to the wall structure, perfectly level, and aligned with each other.
  • Perform high-precision scribing of filler strips, side panels, and molding to create a seamless, custom-fit appearance against uneven walls and ceilings.
  • Install and adjust various cabinet components, including shelves, drawers, and pull-out mechanisms, ensuring smooth and proper operation.
  • Fit and install decorative elements such as crown molding, light valances, toe-kicks, and plinths to complete the kitchen's aesthetic.
  • Precisely cut and install countertops, including making accurate cut-outs for sinks, faucets, and cooktops using appropriate tools like jigsaws and routers.
  • Mount and secure all cabinet and drawer hardware, including handles, knobs, and pulls, ensuring consistent placement and alignment across the entire kitchen.
  • Install and integrate built-in appliances such as dishwashers, wall ovens, and microwaves, ensuring they fit perfectly within the cabinetry.
  • Perform final adjustments on all cabinet doors and drawer fronts to achieve perfect gaps and alignment, a critical step for a high-end finish.
  • Apply silicone sealant and other finishing materials around sinks, countertops, and backsplashes to create a waterproof and clean seal.
  • Manage on-site problem-solving, skillfully troubleshooting and resolving any unforeseen issues or challenges that arise during the installation process.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment at all times, protecting the client's property from dust and damage throughout the project.
  • Conduct a final quality assurance check of the entire installation and perform a detailed walk-through with the client or project manager to ensure complete satisfaction.
  • Adhere strictly to all company standards for quality craftsmanship and all mandated health and safety regulations on the job site.
  • Communicate effectively and professionally with project managers, designers, other tradespeople, and clients to provide progress updates and coordinate workflow.
  • Complete all required project documentation, including work orders, change orders, and client sign-off sheets, accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Take responsibility for the care and maintenance of company-provided tools, equipment, and vehicles.
  • Execute minor drywall, paint, or flooring touch-ups as needed to repair any incidental damage that occurs during the installation.

Required Skills & Competencies

Hard Skills (Technical)

  • Blueprint & Schematic Reading: Ability to proficiently read and interpret complex technical drawings, layouts, and installation guides.
  • Power & Hand Tool Expertise: Mastery of a wide array of tools including table saws, miter saws, circular saws, routers, jigsaws, levels, drills, and drivers.
  • Cabinet Installation: In-depth knowledge of methods for installing both framed and frameless cabinetry, ensuring they are plumb, level, and securely anchored.
  • Finish Carpentry: High-level skill in scribing, cutting, and fitting trim, crown molding, and filler pieces for a seamless, built-in look.
  • Measurement & Layout: Extreme precision in taking measurements and laying out projects to ensure accuracy within fractions of an inch.
  • Countertop Fabrication: Experience in cutting, seaming, and installing laminate and solid surface countertops, including making sink and appliance cut-outs.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong technical aptitude for diagnosing and resolving on-site installation challenges, such as dealing with uneven surfaces or out-of-square walls.

Educational Background

Minimum Education:
