Core Responsibilities

Primary Functions

  • Guide clients through the entire design and sales lifecycle, from the initial showroom welcome and needs assessment to the finalization of the sale and post-installation follow-up.
  • Conduct in-depth consultations to thoroughly understand customer requirements, lifestyle needs, style preferences, and budget constraints for their kitchen project.
  • Utilize specialized kitchen design software (such as 2020 Design, AutoCAD, or similar CAD programs) to create detailed, accurate, and inspiring kitchen layouts, floor plans, and 3D renderings.
  • Prepare and present comprehensive, itemized quotes and sales proposals that clearly outline the costs for cabinetry, countertops, hardware, accessories, and installation services.
  • Proactively engage with prospective customers and leads through phone, email, and in-person meetings to nurture relationships, answer questions, and guide them toward a purchasing decision.
  • Consistently achieve and strive to exceed monthly and quarterly individual sales targets and other key performance indicators (KPIs) set by management.
  • Develop and maintain an expert-level knowledge of our full range of products, including materials, finishes, construction details, and warranty information, to serve as a credible resource for clients.
  • Close sales effectively by articulating the value proposition, overcoming objections, and ensuring the customer is confident in their purchasing decision.
  • Skillfully present design concepts and product solutions to clients, highlighting the features and benefits that directly address their expressed needs and aesthetic goals.
  • Manage a robust sales pipeline using a CRM system, meticulously tracking all client interactions, project statuses, and follow-up activities to ensure no opportunity is missed.
  • Schedule and occasionally conduct on-site visits for measurements and consultations to ensure design plans are precise and compatible with the existing space.
  • Educate customers on the technical aspects of various products, helping them make informed choices between different materials like quartz vs. granite or framed vs. frameless cabinetry.

Secondary Functions

  • Support ad-hoc data requests and exploratory data analysis to identify sales trends and customer preferences.
  • Contribute to the organization's data strategy and roadmap by providing frontline feedback on customer interactions.
  • Collaborate with business units, including marketing and procurement, to translate data needs into engineering requirements and inform product selection.
  • Participate in sprint planning and agile ceremonies within the data engineering team for cross-functional projects.
  • Maintain the visual and functional integrity of the showroom, ensuring displays are pristine, samples are organized, and the environment is welcoming for all visitors.
  • Assist in managing showroom inventory, including the ordering, tracking, and replenishment of product samples, brochures, and other marketing collateral.
  • Collaborate closely with project coordinators and installation teams to facilitate a smooth handover post-sale, ensuring a seamless and positive customer experience through project completion.
  • Actively participate in continuous training programs, team meetings, and supplier-led sessions to stay current on product innovations, design trends, and sales techniques.
  • Address and resolve any customer concerns or issues promptly and professionally, escalating to management when necessary to ensure complete satisfaction and protect brand reputation.
  • Proactively network with local builders, contractors, real estate agents, and interior designers to generate new business leads and establish long-term trade partnerships.

Required Skills & Competencies

Hard Skills (Technical)

  • Kitchen Design Software Proficiency: Demonstrable experience with CAD software such as 2020 Design, ProKitchen, Cabinet Vision, or AutoCAD for creating detailed kitchen layouts.
  • Sales & Quoting Acumen: Proven ability to generate accurate, detailed quotes, process sales orders, and manage a sales pipeline using CRM and POS systems.
  • Product Knowledge: Strong aptitude for quickly learning and retaining technical details about cabinetry, countertops, hardware, and other kitchen-related products.
  • Spatial Reasoning: A strong sense of spatial awareness and the ability to visualize and plan layouts in three-dimensional space.
  • Basic Measurement Skills: Competency in taking accurate room measurements for design and planning purposes.

Education & Experience

Educational Background

Minimum Education:

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.

Preferred Education:

  • Fine Arts

Experience Requirements

Typical Experience Range: 1-3 years of experience in a sales or customer-facing role.

Preferred:

  • Proven experience in a commission-based, big-ticket retail environment (e.g., furniture, automotive, home improvement).
  • Direct experience in the kitchen and bath industry is highly desirable.
  • A portfolio of design work or completed projects is a significant asset.
